I'm a recipe-aholic! But, I can't say that I love to cook . . . I like to cook a lot of different things & everything I cook gets devoured by my boys . . . which says a lot because they can be picky eaters, though I do tend to cook what I think they will like.

Spicy foods, comfort foods & some healthy dishes also anything that says cake or pie!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Good ol' Southern down home cooking - I love it! Haven't mastered to be as good as my mama's, but I keep trying. . .
My cooking triumphs
I make a mean tres leche cake! Made beef pozole & tamales one weekend just to see if I could & got a thumbs up from a Mexican friend. My now deceased mother-in-law proclaimed I make better potato salad than her - this is quite an honor from one of the two best cooks in the world - My mama being the other!
My cooking tragedies
Haven't really totally bombed anything, but I did sprinkle cayenne pepper on deviled eggs by mistake instead of paprika one Easter . . . that got a lot of laughs & extra tea refills!

Pecan Pie V
A pecan pie made without Karo syrup intrigued me. So I thought I'd make this one since I always have brown & white sugars, but I have to buy Karo syrup especially to make a pecan pie. Also, I try to make recipes as written the first time trying, but I didn't have milk, so I used half & half. Other than that I used the exact ingredients. I baked at 400 degress for 10 mins & then 350 degrees for 35 mins. Was really good, but a little dry. So I made again exactly as I did the first time and just baked 40 mins at 350 degrees, and my son declared it the best pecan pie he's eaten. He ate the whole pie except 2 pieces. The taste is phenomenal. This is the way I'll be making pecan pie from now on!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts
I did slice sprouts in half but otherwise followed the recipe exactly, and these were absolutely delicious! My family likes brussels sprouts anyway, but this was a pleasant change from the typical way we serve brussels sprouts. Will definitely make this recipe again.

Caramel-Apple Crisp
The first time I made this I used granny smith apples and followed the recipe exactly and it was very good. The second time I made this I used half bartlett pears (4) and half macintosh apples (4) only because it was what I had on hand, following the rest of the recipe exactly but baked in a 11x7 glass dish and it was absolutely delicious!!
