Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
good recipe, but curious. Baking soda + cream of tarter = baking powder, especially good for those who can taste the bitterness of commercial BP.

Unbelievably Easy Slow Cooker Black Forest Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
Good easy dessert. All the criticisms of a gooey mess likely reflect the great variability of Crockpot temperatures--mine is old and tired and it took High for four hours to not be a gooey mess.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
Great recipe for all the reasons noted. It also adapts nicely to what is on hand and one's fear, to wit: I had 4 cups of overripe bananas (cleaning out freezer), so I added one cup of flour. Have to watch butter, so I cut that to one stick and used a cup of pear puree. Had pecans, so I roasted them and added them after pouring batter into pans (I forgot)--this made a nice praline-ish top even though I swirled them into the batter. Finally, I subbed for one cup of sugar with sweetener substitute.
