Slow Cooker Oats

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
I didn't care for this at all, but my son loved it. It needed more sugar and there was too much cinnamon. I will stick with my usual quick oat with brown sugar and raisins.

Mom's Quick Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2012
I have been looking for a good basic meat sauce recipe and this is the one! I made two changes in ingredients. I didn't add the salt because the onion soup mix had enough, and I added mushrooms just because I like them in meat sauce. I also ended up simmering the sauce for about an hour. Next time I will double the recipe because we like extra sauce and leftovers. This is a good sauce to add on-hand items. My husband wants to try it with some red pepper flakes next time for some spice. I think adding other veggies, wine, sausage might be good too, but it was still great per recipe.

Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
I made this exactly as the recipe states for Thanksgiving dinner. We loved it. The leftovers are already gone. It was a great side dish to replace boring green bean casserole.

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I made this exactly according to the recipe. Pretty good, but I will make changes next time. First, more caramel, definitely more caramel! Second, a thicker oatmeal base. I will double that part of the recipe. Third, I was really able to taste the little bit of salt in the recipe. I haven't seen this complaint in the other reviews, so maybe it is just me. I seem to be really sensitive to salt when it is in an oatmeal recipe. All in all, a quick, yummy treat!

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
Everyone had seconds! I made this exactly as the recipe says. I was a little concerned that it would be too spicy, especially for my youngest son, but he loved it. So don't be too intimidated by the ingredients. I know they look really spicy, but it really was perfect and had a great flavor. The hot sauce I used was Cholula because that is our favorite.

Camper's Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
I usually put the potatoes in a foil pan rather than wrapped in aluminum foil. I have also made these with an envelope of italian dressing or ranch mix to change it up a bit.

This was great! Like other reviewers, I used a can of cream of mushroom soup. I also used more mushrooms than the recipe required. It was yummy.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 25, 2012
This was really good. Only one problem. I substituted raspberry preserves instead of the cooked and strained raspberries. I warmed the preserves in the microwave. When I put it in the cheesecake mixture it all settled on the bottom of the cake. It still tasted fantastic, but there was hardly any swirl of raspberries in the cake. Next time I will do the raspberries the way the recipes says instead of substituting anything.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
These were just OK. I think I will look for a recipe that has eggs in it. I made this per the recipe. The first batch in the oven burned on the bottom before the top was toasted. I turned the oven temp down to 300 degrees and cooked for 13-15 minutes. They were browned perfectly.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake V

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
This was incredible and so easy. Next time I will use more crushed pineapple for the bottom layer. Other than that, this recipe is perfect as is.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
This was pretty good and my family loved it. I didn't add green peppers and I only used one onion. Next time I will use a little more salt and I might try a little red pepper flakes for a kick. This is a good basic recipe that can be easily tweaked to your families taste.

Slow Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Very good. The only change I made was adding beef broth instead of water. I used a can of Guinness and put the veggies in half way through the cooking time.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
My husband and I love this, but it was a little too hot for my son. So if I was to make this for a large group I would put in less buffalo sauce so everyone could enjoy. For people who like spicy food, it was perfect as is.

This was so easy and yummy! It is going in my "make it again" file. I made it per the recipe except for one thing. I used chicken broth instead of water. Everybody loved it.

I made this for my son's birthday and we all loved it. I followed the recipe exactly. It is the first cheesecake I have baked that didn't crack in the center!

Breakfast In A Glass

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
My husband makes this almost every day. It is perfect for that last banana that is way overripe and no one will eat! Sometimes he adds blueberries, flavored yogurt or pineapple juice to mix it up!

Slow Cooker Bolognese

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
I didn't really care for this. It didn't have a very robust flavor and I didn't really care for the milk in it. I won't make it again. Two stars because it was super easy and my family thought it was OK.
