Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
I brined my turkey last year for the first time with this recipe, and I can not believe the difference it made - juicy, tender & savory. I used a clean cooler to do it in and stored it in my garage (Mass. - cold this time of year)I added apple juice (about 1/2 gal) with cut up apples, a little bit of nutmeg, allspice & cinnamon. I put it in on Tuesday night and let it sit till Thurs. morning. So yummy definitely worth the time & little effort. GREAT RECIPE - Thanks

Sweet and Savory Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
WOW !!! This was really good. I used Dr Pepper (cause that's what the neighbor had - we don't drink soda) didn't used whiskey (used small amount of apple juice in place) and didn't get the chance to let roast sit w/ the dry rub on it - a time issue. So good - for those of you that skip the searing part - don't, it carmelizes the brown sugar mixture and gives it such a great flavor, cant express enough I think it truly adds to the flavor in the meat. So yummy really doesn't need the bbq sauce (made some homemade too). Made some fried rice to accompany - excellent Sunday Football meal ! and the Patriots won - great food great win great Sunday !!!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2012
these are excellent cookies - thought the name was a bit over confident, however they are pretty darn good! Although because of the 300 oven takes a long time to bake, but the outcome at the lower temp makesa the difference (upped it to 350 for one batch and immediatly lowered it after the one tray)

Grilled Ham Steak

Really very good - eyeballed ingredients and added tbsp brown sugar to cut the mustard a little without adding extra preserves (used apricot & pineapple jelly). baked in oven (too cold for grilling) very good.

Smooth and Creamy Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
I made my own graham cracker crust, I put a chocolat pudding layer then added the p.b. mix (which I used 1 cup p.b., less 1 cup sugar, and a full 8oz cream cheese) froze it for about 3 hrs then put in fridge for hour before dinner. It was really good - very decedant and rich. next time would lighten up on p.b. to original 3/4 cup. still very good.

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
WOW, these are great. I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon to the flour mix and 1/2 tsp vanilla and used 1/2 brown sugar and 1/2 white sugar to banana mix. The crumb topping is awesome adds a nice little crunch to the moist muffin. Best banana muffins I ever made.

The Best Unbaked Cherry Cheesecake Ever

This was good, for what it is... a cream cheese pie. Its not a real cheesecake, that being said its great for a no-bake make ahead of time dessert.

Chicken Crunch

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
This was good - nice change for chicken, but nothing I'm dieing to have again tomorrow. I cut up the chicken and pan seared in some butter, garlic, onions, italian spices, pepper, seasoning salt. In a saucepan I melted can of cream of chicken w/ mushrooms, some sour cream and cream cheese (probably combined to equal the 8 oz) with a little water to rinse out the soup can. Combined with the chicken into a 8" baking dish, melted some butter in the micro added the sleeve of crackers mixed with the butter and topped the chicken. Baked 350 to finish cooking chicken then broiled for a few minutes to toast the crakcers on top. Served on Angel Hair pasta (would add peas next time) Again - good & comforting just not amazing. UPDATE: warmed this up for lunch today for hubby & I, his on leftover mashed potatoes mine on toast - even better than the original meal - less creamy more flavor and spice.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
WOW I really dont like meatloaf, but this was fantastic. Family loved it, even our 3yr old who doesn't like anything "hamburger". Would even serve this to company - really that good! I did add a few things to the meatloaf according to our tastes (including some of the glaze - which is a must) I did lighten up on the brown sugar a little and probably would again next time I make it (used 1/2 cup not packed brwn sugar - again would go alittle lighter next time). used bread crumbs in place of crackers, added garlic, omitted ginger.

Really really yummy Also I left the foil off and turned the chicken 1/2 way and the chicken was perfect and the sauce thicken really nice. Cook time is off though so watch it,

Strawberry Oatmeal Bars

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
my hubby loves these - using a 9x13 pan I double the recipe - use 1/2 wht and 1/2 brown sugars, we use raspberry jam for a more sweet/tart effect and add a little more than it calls for, I also end up using a little more butter to keep the crust together. very yummy !

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
I made this crust today for my hubby's 40th, he wanted his favorite apple pie. This was easy and simple and it rolled out nice. Great taste too and I'm not big on crusts. With the left overs I used small cookie cutters and made cookies rolled in cinnamon and sugar and baked a few minutes - 3 yr old loved them.

Seven Layer Magic Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
This is the 2nd time I've made these bars, and although very tasty - I keep loosing half the graham cracker crust in the pan. I added and extra tbsp butter thinking it would hold it together better and this time poured the whole can of cond. milk over the crumbs again thinking it would hold the crust together better (last time I split the can as other reviews suggested) I don't know what am I doing wrong these are wonerful in taste, they just fall apart.

Chocolate Eclair Dessert

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
This is good, it is what it is - its not a "gourmet dessert" its pudding and graham crackers, but it's very tasty, versatile, and easy to make. I did chocolate graham crackers and a cookies & cream pudding. Also did the frosting in micro - poured great but made it alittle hard to serve - it stuck to everything, a little sweet too, think if I made it again I'd use the chocolate sauce that is floating in these reviews somewhere lol

Garlic-Brown Sugar Chicken

This was good - didn't have time to marinate, glad I didn't might have been too sweet. Used chicken breasts and simmered on stove top. Also cooked alot faster than recipe calls for.

Peanut Butter Apple Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I also add extra p.b. but this is a great dip for fruits & crackers. HINT: use pineapple juice on fresh cut fruit instead of lemon juice to keep it from turning brown, it adds a much nicer, milder flavor to fruit than the over bearing taste of lemon.
