About this Cook
I was a vegetarian for 16 yrs until I got pregnant, I was dreaming about cheeseburgers lol three years later and still eating meat. But had to learn all over again how to cook the stuff. This site has been wonderful, I was serving the same old same old over and over again. My husband would like to also thank you allrecipes.com
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, my waist line is suffering for this hobby but that's ok.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Dad, he was a great cook, so for me cooking brings back alot of memories of my childhood - happy, wonderful memories.
My cooking triumphs
I just celebrated my daughters 3rd birthday and I created a birthday cake from scratch and decorated it as Jesse's hat from Toy Story, and it came out great. My 3 yr old loved it!
My cooking tragedies
I can't make bread to save my life - my Dad made the best breads, rolls, biscuits....me not in me I guess - maybe it skips a generation lol

Out of this World Turkey Brine
I brined my turkey last year for the first time with this recipe, and I can not believe the difference it made - juicy, tender & savory. I used a clean cooler to do it in and stored it in my garage (Mass. - cold this time of year)I added apple juice (about 1/2 gal) with cut up apples, a little bit of nutmeg, allspice & cinnamon. I put it in on Tuesday night and let it sit till Thurs. morning. So yummy definitely worth the time & little effort. GREAT RECIPE - Thanks

Sweet and Savory Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
WOW !!! This was really good. I used Dr Pepper (cause that's what the neighbor had - we don't drink soda) didn't used whiskey (used small amount of apple juice in place) and didn't get the chance to let roast sit w/ the dry rub on it - a time issue. So good - for those of you that skip the searing part - don't, it carmelizes the brown sugar mixture and gives it such a great flavor, cant express enough I think it truly adds to the flavor in the meat. So yummy really doesn't need the bbq sauce (made some homemade too). Made some fried rice to accompany - excellent Sunday Football meal ! and the Patriots won - great food great win great Sunday !!!

Creamy Hot Cocoa
This was really excellent, the 2nd time I made this I cut the cocoa to 1/4 c and it was much better (original was too cocoa-y) really yummy kids loved it after playing in the snow.
