About this Cook
My name is Anndrea Chinawong. I have been cooking since I was 10 years old. I have a husband and 3 children. My youngest is about 14 months old. So kitchen time is also play time :-) usually with tupperware and pots and pans, all over the floor!! My interests are cooking, gardening, extra. I enjoy reading and buying all kinds of cookbooks. I like going with my husband to the oriental store for groceries. I love to grocery shop.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! I am a cake creator. My husband and kids love fresh rolls still hot n steamy from the oven! Although I love to be in the kitchen all day, sometimes I'm in a hurry and don't have the time to make things from scratch. Over the last few years I've takin an interest in Thai food,(my husband is Thai), I absolutely love fried noodles! Fresh currys, jasmine rice, ginger, fresh lowfat and quick stirfries... I love to cook with friends and family. I also really enjoy cooking Mexican food like homemade salsas, enchiladas, all kinds of taco fillings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sister April and I live about 4 hours apart :-( however, we talk on the phone a lot, (and I mean alooot)!!! We talk gardening, recipes,(she also told me about recipes.com), but we also really try hard to cook healthy! When we are together we can spend the whole day in the kitchen and be happy :-) I love to get together with my husbands side of our family and make egg rolls. We usually make at least 200. We laugh and joke and of course, EAT !!! On my dads side of the family we'd make pastys, a pie like crust filled with ground beef,potatoes,rhutabagas,ect...
My cooking triumphs
I took a few Wilton cake decorating courses. I've really come along way with my Thai cooking. I'm not as intimidated by it! Lol I've also learned how to have dinner ready on time instead of hours later! Ha ha!
