I am a Mom to four wonderful children (two by birth, two by love). Chiropractic is a passion of mine, along with my family, jewelry making, painting, knitting/crocheting, soap and lotion making, etc.
We have sensitivities to many things in our house, including artificial ingredients, dairy, wheat, corn, and liquids that come in plastic. Therefore, I make a lot of things from scratch to save money and sanity!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that allows me to experiment and make my own things. I really can't stand following a recipe. I've never been one to sit and follow all the directions, and still don't, really.
Chili - because it is my favorite thing to eat in winter.
Stir-fry because it is quick and easy.
My cooking triumphs
I just made a killer gluten free stuffing for Thanksgiving! It is the bomb-diggity!
I also have made some interesting creations since moving away from family that my children and I loved.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a child, we had to cook dinner one night a week. I wanted to make spaghetti, but we had no sauce so I tried to make my own with tomato paste and a variety of other things from the spice cabinet.
My Dad was the only one who ate every bite, quietly. The rest of it went to the cats, and even they refused it. After that, my family made us follow recipes and not create our own dishes.
I've had a few others, but that was the worst.
