Kielbasa and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Great simple recipe! Changing things up a little, I sautéd half an onion, a green pepper, a clove of garlic with a little olive oil with cayenne pepper and black pepper; then added the kielbasa to cook for a bit. Instead of 2 cups, milk, I used 1 cup half & half, 0.5 cups milk, 4 oz of sour cream, a handful of sharp cheddar cheese, and a little black pepper. Omit the salt as the kielbasa will make up for it; add garlic salt if desired. It will help to reduce the cooking time by putting the cubed potatoes in the microwave on high for about 4-5 minutes. Turned out awesome!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
This recipe was great! I went with some of the suggestions that I had found in here and it turned out amazing!! Here's what I did: I pretty much stuck to the original recipe although I made a few additions. I put the breadcrumbs on a large dinner plate, added the pepper, and used a dash of garlic salt instead. I tried to go lite on the garlic salt after reading reviews that the ham would add quite a bit to the saltiness of the dish. I, too, dipped the chicken in an eggwash before breading the chicken, and breaded both sides. Then, because I didn't have toothpicks, I wrapped the chicken in large thick-cut bacon and flattened it a little in my 9"x13". I also took the suggestion to make the sauce using a cream of ____ (I've seen several different suggestions i.e. chicken, celery, mushroom, whatever...). I used cream of mushroom because I like it, and it's what I had offhand. I mixed it with what sour cream I had had left - approximately 4oz. I didn't have lemon juice, so I left it out. I covered the chicken with the sauce and baked it on 385F for 35 minutes, took it out and added a slice of provolone and swiss cheese to the top, and placed it back in the oven for another 7 minutes. This dish turned out AMAZING!!!

Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This recipe is absolutely AMAZING!!!! It's super easy and tastes wonderful! I read the reviews first and made a few changes. First, I used a 3 lb EYE ROUND ROAST because it is a leaner cut. I also cooked it, first, in DR PEPPER with generous amounts of salt, pepper, hot sauce, and a little smoke flavoring. Also, instead of using garlic and onion powder, I used about 5 small cloves of garlic and a whole yellow onion. After cooking for 6 hours, I drained the liquid, shredded the beef and added the bbq sauce to let cook for 2-3 more hours. Instead of using a store brand bbq sauce, I made my own using the BOURBON WHISKEY BBQ SAUCE recipe on here. I would recommend this recipe to anyone!!!

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This bbq sauce is AMAZING!!! I used it with the SLOW COOKER BARBEQUE recipe on here. I read most of the comments first and went with what they said. I added extra bourbon, a little less smoke flavoring, used Chalula's Chipotle hot sauce to taste, and a little more tomato paste to thicken it up from the extra bourbon. I decided to get a nice bourbon to sip on while cooking. I got Knob Creek's Single Barrel, 9-Year bourbon - it's 60% abv. A little strong to drink, but made the sauce EXTRA flavorful. I will most definitely make this again!!
