Easy Weeknight Bacon Mac 'n Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
This was a quick and easy mac and cheese that would be good on a weeknight. I used all cheddar cheese since that is what I had on hand and left off the bread crumbs because of personal preference. I would make this again.

Cheesy Southwest Chicken Skillet

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
This was a good, quick and easy meal that would be great on a weeknight. I used penne pasta because that is what I had on hand. Since I didn't have taco flavored cheese I used shredded cheddar and about a tablespoon of taco seasoning.

Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
This is certainly a quick and easy sandwich to make. However, it will require quite a bit of tweaking to transform it from chicken in tomato soup to a 5-star recipe.

Pan Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
This is a great classic recipe. It is a great base from which you can personalize it to your taste. I have to admit, I didn't measure when I added the seasoning. I sprinkled the chicken with seasoned salt (no additional salt because it is not needed), black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and a little cayenne before browning. Then I used cornstarch instead of flour to thicken the sauce and I had no problem with lumps. I used dried italian seasoning for the italian herbs. If I make it again, I think it would be great to use fresh herbs.

Spaghetti Pie III

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
My hubby loved this. I used about 1/2 the amount of spaghetti and used a spicy pasta sauce. I added 1/2 a sweet onion, diced up, (instead of green onion) and sautéed for about 5 minutes in the pan after I browned the ground beef. Then I added a heaping teaspoon of minced garlic instead of the garlic powder. I also poured a little red wine in with the pasta sauce. I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese and I used all parmesan cheese and left out the cheddar. Instead of layering it, I mixed everything together and it was delicious. We will be making this again.

Southwestern Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
Yum! I just had this for lunch and it was excellent. I followed the recipe except left out the butter to reduce fat and left out the corn because I was out of it and didn't want to run to the store. I have saved this recipe and will be making it again. Thank you Texas7127 for sharing your wonderful recipe.

Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
I made the marinade as written and marinated chicken breast tenders (istead of thighs) about 8 hours before grilling instead of baking. It was pretty good and to us not spicy at all. Next time I would probably use chicken thighs and add hoisin sauce, ginger and extra chili garlic sauce.

Easy Chicken Gyro

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
My rating is for the chicken only as I did not make the rest. I made the marinade as written except I marinated the chicken in a resealable plastic bag for probably 4 hours and then grilled on a grill pan on top of the stove. It had a pretty good flavor. Since my husband and I like spicy, bold flavors I might add some cayenne or other seasoning next time as it was a little bland for our tastes.

I threw the chicken in the crockpot when I found out in the afternoon that someone was coming to our house for dinner that night. I found this recipe and it was so easy and delicious. It worked out perfectly. i will be making it again. I can't believe I waited this long to try it.

Slow-Cooked Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
This was ok for me. It was not bad but not great. It did not have as much flavor as I expected. It could be tweaked but I would probably look for another recipe first.

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
Yum! Excellent salad. It tasted great with lighter ingredients including whole wheat pasta, light mayonnaise, light ranch dressing (used instead of dry mix) and center cut bacon. Instead of black olives I added chopped green onions. I did add a generous amount of black pepper and a couple of sprinkles of cayenne and it was just enough to give it that extra spice to make it just right for us. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Wonnie Burgers!

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
These were good, moist, juicy burgers but just very oniony. So you need to like onions if you want to try this burger. I scaled this down to use 1 lb of 80/20 ground beef and left out the pork sausage. I made a copycat recipe of the onion soup mix using a recipe from this site except I left out the salt and followed the rest of the recipe as written. It was good but oniony with both the dry onion soup as well as the additional chopped onion. Luckily for us we like onions and liked the burgers. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

Chicken Surprise

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
This recipe is named correctly because it was a pleasant surprise. Like other reviewers, I added seasoning because I was afraid it would be too bland for us. So before sautéing the chicken with a little olive oil in the skillet, I sprinkled it with black pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and poultry seasoning. In addition, I used canned tomatoes with basil, oregano, and garlic. With these tweaks the recipe tasted great. It is so easy and is a keeper.

Sauce Rosee

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
This sauce is addictive! I need a 12-step program for it. Excuse me as I lick the bowl so I do not miss a drop of this sauce. Did I mention I really like this sauce? I just added this to my family favorites folder. I followed the directions until the tomato sauce. I substituted spaghetti sauce for that, and then substituted a light alfredo sauce for the heavy cream. I served it with tortellini. Excuse me while I go into my Sauce Rosee coma now.

Sweet and Tangy Slow Cooker Bar-B-Q Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
My husband raved about these ribs and what I good cook I was (thanks to this recipe). I followed the recipe except I only had about a half coup of ketchups left so I used spaghetti sauce for the other 1/2 cup. Followed the recipe as written otherwise. Thanks for sharing this recipe. We will be making it again. UPDATE: After pulling leftovers out of the freezer and reheating, they still taste great. The sauce is really good.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
This was very good meatloaf. The texture was perfect and it was nicely spiced. I followed the recipe with the exception of subbing ketchup for the tomato paste (because I didn't want to open a can of tomato paste for only 1 TBL) and I used Montreal Steak Seasoning instead of salt and pepper. As we like spicy bold flavors next time I will probably follow other reviewers recommendations to add bbq sauce to give it a little bolder flavor.
