Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I also added tsp of cinnamon & dash of nutmeg & TBS vanilla to the sauce & mixed most with the apples, saving some to put on top of the crust. Everyone loved it! It was the perfect pie, especially with that sauce covering the whole top crust, yum!

Teriyaki Sauce

I used brown sugar and added about a TBS of cornstarch. I marinated steak tips for a few hours, and they came out lick-the-platter-clean great! We can't wait to try this one again!

Caramel Popcorn

Delicious! I made half the recipe with one bag of microwave popcorn and added mixed nuts the first time. I wasn't sure how much of the popcorn would last the hour in the oven since we kept tasting it. It came out perfectly sweet and crunchy, though 45 minutes probably would have done it. Second time I nixed the nuts but we thought it needed something a little salty to go with it, not that it stopped it from disappearing quickly.

Bread Machine Challah II

I have been making this for about 2 years. This is hands down the easiest and tastiest Challah. No one can get enough of it! I have made it exactly as written and it comes out great. However these days, I do not measure the honey so tend to put a little more in. I also add an extra 1/2 C of flour and 1/4 tsp yeast.

My family loves this. Sometimes I taste a little too much of the sauce, depending on the brand, so I cut back on it, but only a little bit. We also add extra beans to make it last a little bit longer.

Jennifer's Granola

4.5 stars. Big hit in the house, for kids and adults. I did not have all of the ingredients, so used oats and nuts but no flax seed or wheat germ. Also I used applesauce because we were out of oil. Having said that, the flavor was great. I did have to keep breaking up the pieces while it was cooking, but some of them just didn't get small enough, and those pieces are more chewy. I like my granola to have a good crunch and the smaller pieces definitely have it. Perhaps if I had used the oil instead of applesauce, the problem would be solved? We'll know next time!
