I'm 26 years old and have both vocational certificates and an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. I've been cooking prefessionally for over ten years now.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, grill, and experiment with different ingredients. I use my kitchen as a personal Iron Chef Stadium. I pick an ingredient and figure out different recipes to use it in.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmans breakfast has always been my favorite family tradition. Instead of a big dinner on Christmas day, my family would have a huge breakfast. We'd have sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, eggs with ham and cheese, broiled grapefurit, mom's version of apple pancake, hash browns, milk, and juice. We'd open presents and then pig out.
My cooking triumphs
My family raves about my pulled BBQ. I was tapped to find something to eat and tossed some boneless beef ribs into the slow cooker with some beef stock and my own barbeque sauce. I let it simmer all day and when I come home at night it's smell has permiated the entire house making mouths water.
My cooking tragedies
Apple pie has always been my downfall. I just can't seem to get the filling right.
