Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
This is my "Go To" white bread recipe. I make 3 or 4 loaves a week for my family. I also roll the dough out to about 1/2" thick and spread melted butter, sugar and raisins, then roll it up. I've been baking bread for 40 years and this is the best basic bread recipe. So much you can do with this dough. Sometimes I add a little more salt and less sugar or honey. Sometimes I put the water, yeast, sugar or honey plus one cup of the flour in to the mixer and mix it, then leave it for 20-30 minutes until doubled. I will then add 1 tsp more yeast, the oil, salt and flour, mix and let it sit another 20 min. I take it out onto my counter and knead until smooth, then follow the rest of the directions.

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
Absolutely the best Pork Loin recipe I have ever used. The meat fell apart(tender) and the gravy made from the juices was outstanding! What great flavor! Thanks for sharing this UMich97!

New York Italian Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2011
Very simple, good flavor and texture! I didn't let mine proof overnight in the fridge but I will next time. I had it in the fridge about 2 hours. The dough was pretty soft, but still workable. Not exactly like the pizza I grew up with in NJ but better than what's here in GA.

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
Easy and YUMMY! My family loves them! These are nice and moist, not like the kind you get at those famous coffee houses. Theirs are very dry. I did double the topping and left out the lemon zest. I made these two days ago and have to make more today. Gave one to my mother in law and she wants me to make her a batch. Headed to the store now to get more blueberries. Not sure what sprinkling the flour did over the blueberries, because my batter turned out purple, which is fine, it's a Blueberry Muffin!!! :)

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
The recipe calls for way to much onion and too many eggs. All I taste is onions and three eggs would have been plenty. I've always gotten rave reviews from mine but I wanted to try something different. Keep out the bacon and save that for the German potato salad.
