I'm 52, happily divorced, and enjoying life as a single person again. I have 2 daughters, and 2 granddaughters. I enjoy sewing and cooking when I have the time. This is a great site to come to when I need a recipe for dinner or an appetizer for a party. Thanks guys!
My favorite things to cook
I love to make casseroles. My favorites are broccoli rice casserole and chili casserole. The recipes have been passed down from my grandmother to my mother to me, and I will pass them down to my daughters...if they ever learn how to cook:(
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to love going to Grandma's for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We would have turkey for dinner but the thing I liked best of all was watching her make noodles for the turkey and noodles we would have for supper that evening. I watched her roll out the dough in long strips and hang it over the chairs, then cut it up into noodles and drop it into the soup. Of course it had to dry for awhile, but it was a nice memory.
My cooking triumphs
I've actually had quite a lot. I've been lucky in that aspect.
My cooking tragedies
When I prepared a roast in the crock pot before I left for church Sunday morning, and found out when I got back that the crock pot did not work on the high setting! Needless to say, we didn't have beef roast for lunch that day!
