About this Cook
Married, working mom of two.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, and dinner for my family. I have also recently begun decorating cakes and have started Iced Cakes by Crissy. See my online blog, for photos of cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For the last several years my family has been involved with and has entered numerous things to the Monterey County fair.
My cooking triumphs
Two first place "baker boys" and several ribbons from the Monterey County Fair. Also, my new venture Iced Cakes by Crissy. Please visit my online blog and take a look at my photos.
My cooking tragedies
A triple chocolate cheesecake that slid off of the cooling rack onto my kitchen floor. What a heartbreaker. I have never tried it again.

Caramel Corn IV
sorry but have to say it - the most popular reviewer is probably scaring people off. this was easy, and i used only one saucepan. poured the bag of microwave popcorn onto a pam sprayed parchment paper lined cookie sheet, poured the caramel mixture over the top, added some sliced almonds and sea salt, baked 25 min at 275 and stirred every 5 minutes. it's awesome. my dad just said its the best he's ever had. will def make again!

Pineapple Cheesecake Squares
I only made the filling, put it into a ready made graham cracker crust and topped it with some drained crushed pineapple mixed with a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar...loved it! A very nice, creamy pineapple dessert.

Marshmallow Fondant
good basic recipe. i didn't do the butter, i used shortening on my hands instead. used 1 tsp vanilla but also used 1 tsp butter flavoring and 1/2 tsp lemon extract which is the way i normally make homemade fondant and it really gives this fondant a nice flavor. didn't refrigerate it. rolls out nicely and easy to work with.
