Panna Cotta

I really liked this, but thought it was a little too thick. Maybe needed a little more sweetness next time.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I loved this. I did make some modifications...In addition to the strawberries, I also added a can of mandarine oranges. I did not have poppy seeds ot seaseme seeds, but it was yummy. I did hal the sugar. I thought it made a lot of dressing but I just saved the rest for the next night's dinner. Like others said, try not to dress the salad too early or it will become soggy. I dressed it and ate.

Mushroom Orzo

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
I gave this recipe 5 stars because it was soooo yummy the next day. I used about half the amount of butter and added a tiuch of oil. I used diced onions. My only recommendation would be to add 3/4c of chicken broth and 3/4c of white wine. You can taste the wine in the recipe, but I like a little more of a kick. I did not add the parsley, becasue I didn;t have any, but it's probably not even needed. Nice recipe.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
Unfortutely, I think I am in the minority...I though this was a good recipe, but not great. I loved the sauce, but thought it was too think. I thought that with the exception of the bacon flavor in the sauce, the bacon could be omitted. I also thought the shallots could have been omitted as well. I made the recipe as written, but will make this recipe again and puree the sauce with the bacon and shallots to see if this would marke it better. I did add red potatoes to the roasting pan and they can out great.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2009
I love this recipe. This is my go to receipe for a last minute pot luck at work. The only thing I do different is substituate the brownies for canned cherry pie filling. Just me, but I think the brownies make it a little too heavy. Other than that, dont mess with perfection.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Loved this recipe. I was a little skeptable at first because I had never used a liquid glaze like this called for. But wow, the flavor was awesome. I used a lattace topper which I probably wont use again mainly becasue I thought it looked sloppy, but I was probably just me. This was AWESOME.

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I thought the consistancy came out great. It was nice and creamy, but we did not care for the flavor. I made this for Thanksgiving dinner and was a little disappointed. It did not give you that comfort food feeling.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
I really liked this. It reminds me of the rice my grams made for me when I was little. Mine did come out a little mushy, but I think I just cover cooked it a little. I halved the receipe, but I followed it exactly. Loved it. This is a keeper in my recipe box!!!

Taco Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
So, I was looking for a quick recipe for my picky hubby. This was good and did not take very only to make. I did do some of the suggestions and added mexican rice (from this site) and added black beans to the meat mixture. I really liked the cresent, but I used a 8X8 baking dish and only half of the cresent fit on the bottom. Next time, I will do a double layer of the cresent. I think this recipe would be really good with chicken or even turkey as long as you increases the seasoning. Overall, I will make again.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
I followed this to the T with the exception of subsituting half and half for heavy cream. I was not totally impressed. I thought it was too liquidy. I boilded a little longer to try and remove some of the liquid. The flavor is good, but I thought there was a little too much basil and not enough oregano. Next time I will add more oregano and less basil. I will probaly drain some of the liquid from the tomatos and boil a little longer.

Buttery Herb Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This was a very good sauce. I did as the others had suggested and omitted the egg. I do not think it would have made a huge difference. The sauce did not thinken as much as I thought. I warmed it the next day and it was much better. I used frest button mushrooms, sauted in butter. I sliced 4 medium mushrooms, but will use more next time. I like the mushrooms in this dish. I also added half of a shallot to the mushrooms as they were sauting. I poured over fettucini and sprinkled parmesan over the top. Will make this recipe again

Creamy Mushroom Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
I really enjoyed this. I had a couple of adjustments to it. I increased the chicken stock and white wine slightlys to make it a little more thinner. I also used flour instead of cornstarch and it made no difference. Once it was done a added about a tablespoon more sour cream to cream it a little more. I loved it. I also added more mushrooms then called for. A keeper.

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

Reviewed: May 9, 2003
YUMMY! We just loved these. IT didmake more then a dozen, 18 for me. I love the way they looked when they came out of the oven. I used a little less than 1 cup of chocolate chips because that is all I had in the cupboard. They were moist and delicous. Recommend this to all!!!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: May 7, 2003
This was a good recipe, however not as good as the reviews had stated. I will make this again, but it wasnt wow. I added a little more garlic, i like garlic, and a little more onion. I also added a pinch of sugar. It tasted a lot better over pasta than by itself.

Creamy White Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
Very good! It was tasty, yet practical. I served this over chicken and my fiance loved it. I only added half the salt, and it was still great. I also left out a pinch of the flour, only because I like a thinner cream sauce. This is a keeper!!!

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
very delicious. I was very happy with this dish. I only needed to make 2 but i doubled the wine, only becasue I love the taste of it. Also, like someone had recommended, I put the chicken broth in at the beginning with the hens and garlic, so the garlic wouldn't burn. Everything was wonderful. Very flavorful and juicy.

Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2003
I loved this recipe. I thought it was new and delicious. I have never cooked with wine, mainly because I was never old enough to buy it, but now I am and it was wonderful. It was a little time consuming the first time, but once you make it a few times it gets faster. Wonderful recipe
