About this Cook
I never learned how to cook until I became engaged and moved in with my fiance. I realized that I had never cooked for people before and had no idea even where to start. It took me about 6 months before I became comfortable cooking on adaily basis. Now,my husband cannot get enough of my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Some of my favorite things to cook are: fried chicken, cheeseburger pie and rolled mozzarella chicken. These are my husbands favorite meals. He can eat these everyday of the week. I like to experiment with new recipes, but it takes me a few times before I am comfortable with the taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
No one in my family ever taught me how to cook, so I was on my own. I hope to make Thanksgiving Dinner a tradition at our home for now on. Every Thanksgiving my family make a fruit salad that has been passed down from generation to generation.
My cooking triumphs
I remember the first time I ever made my cheeseburger pie. My husband loved it and I felt so good. But the time I felt the proudest of myself was on Thanksgiving of 2003. It was our first Thanksgiving together since being married and all of the in-laws and my family were coming to our home. Everything turned out great. We had no diseasters and no one got sick!!
My cooking tragedies
I had never burned anything, but I tried to made hubby's favorite, Potato Soup. It was bland, with no color and tasted horrible. The hubby still ate it and said it was good, but I thought it was gross!

Panna Cotta
I really liked this, but thought it was a little too thick. Maybe needed a little more sweetness next time.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I
I loved this. I did make some modifications...In addition to the strawberries, I also added a can of mandarine oranges. I did not have poppy seeds ot seaseme seeds, but it was yummy. I did hal the sugar. I thought it made a lot of dressing but I just saved the rest for the next night's dinner. Like others said, try not to dress the salad too early or it will become soggy. I dressed it and ate.
