Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
My first time making split pea soup and had to guess at some of the instructions ie how high to cook on and having never used a ham hock didn't realize it was all fat. Had hardly any meat in the soup. Nonetheless, I figured out the heat, a little higher than low heat and next time will buy a chunk of deli ham to cut into pieces and add. Not sure still if the ham hock is needed for flavoring so not sure if I need to add that too? Added the carrots, garlic and onion and the flavor was very yummy! Filling , economical soup. Will keep experimenting.

Buttermilk Lemon Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
This pie is so delicious! I made it like the recipe stated except I made my own buttermilk with 1 Tablespoon lemon juice and filled measuring cup up with milk to equal one full cup. The pie was a bit hit !

Whole Wheat Muffins

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I made these wonderful muffins this morning as directed in the recipe but since I didn't have all purpose flour I used bread flour. Substituted a little Splenda for the sugar as well. These muffins came out light and fluffy and yummy straight from the oven! Yes, they are plain but since they are muffins, that's what I expected! When I want delicious, fancier cake recipes , I look on allrecipes and find those. But, for now, coffee and a muffin is making my morning wonderful!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
I read alot of the reviews here and decided I have to try this recipe! My house smells wonderful and I just tasted my first bite of this fantastic bread! Light, fluffy and healthy. I'll be making this bread often, as my husband and son are raving about it right now! I make two loaves and followed the recipe but added 1/2 cup of wheat germ. I can't say enough about how much I love this recipe!
