GO, MAKE THESE RIGHT NOW! This was my first time making any type of oatmeal cookies from scratch. I followed the directions, but made a half batch and altered the recipe based on reviews to 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt (next time I will make the full batch with 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt). I baked for 14 minutes at 325, let sit on the cookie sheet for 5, and then as soon as they were off the sheets, they magically disappeared! Everyone in my family LOVES these! Maybe it's a good thing I didn't make the full batch, or I would still be eating them :) OH ALSO, IF YOU ONLY HAVE TRADITIONAL NON-QUICK OATS, put them in a food processer for a few seconds and voila, instant oats!
