Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
This was pretty good. I'd probably make it again, however I wouldn't use ground beef, would use real cuts of beef instead, mostly for presentation value I think

Quick and Easy Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
SOOO SOOO good!! I pure'ed one can of beans to give it a really nice consistency. I skip the topping, honestly I prefer it without it. This has a permenant spot in my soups section of my recipe folder. I have made it 3 times since I found it in December 2012, and will make it numerous more times I'm sure.

Slow Cooker Santa Fe Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
Eh, I added a whole bunch of spices (cumin, chili powder, etc) and it was still really bland. The chicken however was super tender. This is a great starter recipe for something awesome I am sure. If I ever decide to try it again and change it up a bunch I'll post here.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
This recipe is awesome! I was a little unsure how I'd like it, since I love the traditional deviled eggs so much, but this was worth the risk! I did however add one extra piece of bacon... cauase... well why the hell not? Very very good. I don't think I'll make traditional deviled eggs ever again now!

Kat's Minestrone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2012
This is a great recipe. I of course changed it a bit as chef john suggests most people will do. My changes were I didn't put in any cabbage or Swiss Chard as I don't care for those very much in my soups. Also the plum tomatoes I used two cans of diced tomatoes with green chilli's instead. I am a garlic addict.. so I doubled the garlic... probably will not do next time as it was a little too strong even for me. For the beans I used red beans, and garbanzo. Anyway, it was great, loved it and will definitely make it again. this recipe has earned a permanent spot in my recipe book.

Death By Garlic

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This recipe is awesome! If you are a garlic lover you must put this in your mouth! I usually cook chicken with it (good easy garlic chicken also on this site) and it is to die for. Just beware, your breath will be kickin! When I make it I add a little more red pepper than called for, and actually I put a few shakes of Garlic powder in the olive oil sauce. What can I say, I'm a garlic addict! Good on pretty much any pasta. I serve it on whatever I have. Bow-ties, spaghetti, fettucine, the little wheels, doesn't matter, it's all just delicious!

Breta's 7 layer dip

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2011
Don't forget to chill! The dip is a hundred times better after chilled and the flavors have a chance to mesh. I use Pace Picante Hot salsa in the guac to give it an extra kick. You can omit the fritos dip if you need to, but it really does enhance the flavor of the beans.

Egg Salad Sandwich

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
great twist on a basic! I used 1/2 cup mayo, and probably 1/4 dijon, 1/4 cup regular mustard since I didn't have dried mustard. Love the garlic powder! I added probably a 1/2 tsp of paprika and a little cayenne since I love it. I only used 1/4 of salt, and it was too salty, so I added another egg. Perfect

Pistachio Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Made these tonight and they turned out great! I too was nervous about having the oven high, then turning it down. I started off at 450 then went to 375. My tenders were done in about 15 minutes. I did add probably about 1/2 tsp of garlic powder to the honey mixture cause I add garlic to everything! Tasted great. Also I used italian bread crumbs, which next time I'll probaby use just a tad less of so it doesn't over power the nut so much. Overall, incredible and unique flavor! I'll definately be making this again and again!

Cajun Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I did this almost exactly Teresa did in the crock pot with a few minor adjustments. I didn't have ground mustard on hand, so I marinated the pork in mustard for about a half hour, then added maybe 1tsp of mustard to the spice mix before putting it on the roast. I put it in the crock pot with 16oz of chicken broth on a bed of onoins. My roast was only 2 1/2lbs, and I followed the spices exactly - so basically doubled them. I also added a bit of sage and nutmeg. I made gravy out of the broth from the crock pot that was to die for! Probably added about 2 1/2 tblsp. of flour to thicken. I made mashed pototaes on the side to serve with it. Even my picky boyfriend ate it all up and went back for seconds. I'll definately make this again!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

The best and easiest Chili ever! This recipe is SO adaptable to suit anyones taste. I made a few minor alterations for myself, I used one can kidney, and one can black beans. I also added a can of diced tomatoes with green chili's. A couple cloves of minced garlic (cause I love garlic), and viola! Awesome Chili!

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
This was very good and pretty easy. I didn't have mustard powder, so I used prepared mustard (about 1tblsp) and it turned out fine. I also added 1tsp of seasoned salt. I like a lot of cheese so I used 6 oz of velveeta, 8 oz. extra sharp cheddar, 6 oz med cheddar, and about 3 oz of some shredded mexican blend with one whole package of pasta. It was very good!!! I plan on experimenting with different cheeses each time I make it. I think next time I'm going to use all white cheeses. I keep ya posted!
