Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2012
This was the first time I attempted to brine a turkey and I will NEVER go back! Even those that didn't like turkey before thought it was amazing. Very moist and flavorful. I used some ground pepper and some whole peppercorns. Definitely worth the time!!

Mandarin Orange Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
My husband calls this Pig Lickin Good cake. It was quite delicious and everyone loved it. Kids and adults alike. I used an orange cake mix. I also added a few oranges to the frosting and garnished with mandarin orange slices and maraschino cherries. Very yummy!

Salty and Sweet Cranberry Citrus Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
I used this for Christmas dinner. I used some cranberry apple cider, too. I then made a cranberry injectate to add some more citrus flavor. I used my ninja and ground up fresh cranberries, 2 oranges (peeled), a lemon (peeled), 3 cloves garlic, lemon pepper and some more cranberry-apple cider. I then strained it and used the thin liquid to inject in the bird. I also kept the solid and used that as a rub for the outside. There were a lot of compliments on the flavor and moisture. This is my 2nd time brining and I won't ever cook a turkey without it again!

Mom's Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
This is a good recipe, just needs some tweeks. I used 1/4 c brown sugar and 1/4 c honey with a bit sweeter apple. I also took the advice of others and added vanilla. I also used rolled oats with a bit of flour and brown sugar again. I didn't add much water as my apples were juicy. After all of that, it wasn't too sweet or runny. Thanks to everyone before me who gave me advice!

Maple Walnut Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2012
I wasn't sure I was going to love this with the first bite. The next day after it had sat, it was very good. A unique flavor combination.
