Caramel-Nut Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Absolutely delicious - I followed the recipe (maybe slightly less sugar) exactly but instead of using peanuts on top I used Skor Bits -- it was to die for!! Be careful not to add too much caramel ice cream topping on the top layer because it tends to run off when slightly warm.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
Loved these so much! I followed the recipe almost exactly, just cut down on the brown sugar and vanilla just a tad. I also added 1/4 cup toffee bits to the top as well as the choc chips. The edges were crispy and yummy. Will definitely make these again for a treat.

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
I agree too, the pictures don't look appetizing, but wait until you smell it! It smelled soooo good when I basted it and even coming out of the oven. I did find it very tender and juicy as well as tangy/lemony though. I'll read some more reviews to find out what others did to adjust the flavour.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Very tasty. Will add to my "must make for company" list. The honey-mustard-onion flavour combination is excellent. I followed the recipe exactly except I didn't have red potatoes, so I used regular ones and am quite happy with the result.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Excellent - the whole family loved it. I had 4 for dinner and 1 lb of gr beef, so I made 4 patties and doubled the gravy as suggested. I will make this again in the future. Hubby asked if I used 1/2 gr pork because it was so flavorful.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Delicious and super duper easy too. I halved the ingredients and used a smaller pan (11 X 7") and it was perfect. I will make this again and again and tell my DD and friends how easy it is.

Pork Chop Dinner for Two

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
Excellent Dinner! I followed the recipe exactly as described then added a little less than 1/2 an envelope of Lipton's Dry Onion Soup Mix. Just sprinkled it on top of the veggies at the end, then covered and baked for 55 mins. Everyone loved it and said it would be welcome again soon. DH even said he'd like the recipe printed to add to his fall hunting recipes because of the ease of preparation, That's when the guys go off on their own and cook in a camp.

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
FANTASTIC!! You won't be disappointed. I followed the sauce recipe exactly as written and I chose to bake the ribs instead of grilling them. I laid the pre-baked ribs (after marinating for 2 hrs) out on a large pan, spooned on half the sauce, baked for 20 min, then spooned on the rest of the sauce and baked for another 20 min, until the sauce was slightly bubbly and thickened. Everyone loved the taste and the meat was perfectly tender. I recommend you give this a try.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
I found this too heavy and oily. We ate it but didn't enjoy it a whole lot. I followed the recipe to a tee, but baked it in a bundt pan. I don't think the pan made much difference.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Excellent recipe...we had 2 guests for dinner and they absolutely loved the roast. I followed the recipe exactly for a slightly over 3lb roast. No meat thermometer used, but it was perfectly done.

Shanghai Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2012
Excellent. Really enjoyed this recipe tonight. I didn't have a few things I needed so I substituted the Chinese Noodles for Whole Wheat Fettuccine and Kosher Salt for 1/2 tsp of reg salt, and I cut back a bit on the Crushed Red Pepper flakes as well. Still quite nice with a summer meal.

Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2012
The name is a little deceiving, I think it's more a like a Brownie Pudding Cake. It did taste great, I thought it might be super-sweet but it was enjoyable. We served it with vanilla ice cream and I will make it again. The 9X9 pan I used had to soak overnight, but today it was a simple clean up.

Skillet Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
Very tasty...family and company enjoyed it, but I thought 1 cup of bread crumbs was a bit too much. Made the dish somewhat doughy. I'll try it again soon and use fewer bread crumbs.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs II

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
Nice recipe. I used white vinegar after reading a comment that Apple Cider Vinegar was not suitable. I also used Italian seasoned bread crumbs and added a 1/2 tsp of Italian Seasoning to the meat mixture before cooking the meatballs. The sauce was not too strong in vinegar flavour and not too sweet either, all good comments from DH and DS tonight. I will make this again and again.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
Excellent! Loved the combination of flavours. I used fresh rosemary and dried oregano (that's all I had) and boneless skinless chicken breasts (large ones - cut in 1/3s) and removed them after about 35 mins, then let the potatoes crisp up until the one hour mark. The chicken was moist, not too dry but it tasted fantastic.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
Fantastic, easy to prepare and always enjoyed by my family of 3 males and myself. I followed the recipe exactly and I use Heinz Chili Sauce, it's not crazy hot but adds a great taste. I layer 1/2 the meat/rice mixture, then a layer of cheese, then repeat.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
Really loved this recipe. I followed the recipe to a tee. No changes needed in my eyes. They've been out of the oven for a few minutes and several have disappeared already. Nice flavour and texture, go ahead, give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
Bland is a good word, and it's a cake-like cookie. I made the batter aspect exactly as it reads but I didn't make the frosting and didn't add the walnuts. I baked the first sheet of cookies then decided to add some white choc chips for the next tray that went in. Maybe the walnuts would add the needed texture, but overall, just a bland chocolate cookie.

Awesome holiday cookies. Made exactly as written. I will make these often and probably even again in a few days because I know they won't last long around here.
