Gobi Aloo (Indian Style Cauliflower with Potatoes)

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
YUM! Delicious! Pretty much followed the recipe as written, but I did need to add a splash of chicken stock a couple times to keep the potatoes from sticking to the bottom of the pan and burning. . .seriously, just a splash, not enough to make a sauce.

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
This was a good recipe, the whole family really enjoyed it. Next time, I will cut down the cream a bit. . .I thought it was too creamy and the curry spices were hard to taste with all that cream.

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
This was delicious!! I didn't have any almond extract so I subbed amaretto and I only used 1 1/2 cups cranberries in it. I thought it was wonderful. . .especially with whipped cream! Yum, thanks so much for sharing!!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This was great! The whole family loved it. What a great way to use leftover shrimp. The only change I made was replacing the mushrooms with red and orange bell peppers (which was a great decision). A little red pepper flake on top (for those of us who like life a little more spicy) was a great addition too.

Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
Delicious!! We followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. I don't think we'll bother buying cocktail sauce again since this is so easy and tastes wonderful. I do think we'll need to adjust the horseradish to make it a little more child friendly though, it was a little spicy for my 6 year old.

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
Fantastic recipe! They were so pretty and delicious. My husband made them using just egg white (he whipped to soft peaks) instead of whole eggs because he thinks breaded things work better with just the white. My 6 year old, tomato hating, son said these were the best tomatoes ever and had two!!!

Caramel Pecan Delight

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
This was quick and easy to make. I roasted my pecans to bring out their flavor. My husband took it to a potluck (well, he took a thinner 9x13 and we kept a tiny dish for our house) and it got rave reviews!!! Seriously, I had people posting on FB about my awesome dessert and asking me for the recipe :) My son wants this for his next birthday party!!! We did all think it was better the next day after it had sat awhile (I actually didn't like it right after I made it but the next day I could have fought for more lol). Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
Added crumbled feta, candied walnuts (whip egg white with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg then add nuts and bake until golden stirring once), and used rice wine vinegar in the dressing. It was delicious, everyone at our party wanted the recipe. We had enough spinach to make the salad again the next night, but used mandarin oranges instead of strawberries. . .I think I liked the oranges better! Yum!!

Carrot and Raisin Salad II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
I really like this recipe, the sour cream was a nice addition! I didn't have brown sugar, so I used organic white sugar. I used regular mayo. I think it would be good with a pinch of cayenne (the hot/sweet thing) but with kids eating it. . .it was perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Yum, Yum, Yum!!! These were FANTASTIC!!! I usually change recipes to our taste, but this time I pretty much went with the recipe (I did put a crushed clove of garlic in with the butter and made a bread crumb topping) and I'm so glad I did. These were the best scalloped potatoes I've ever made!! I made them for a party and the entire batch was eaten. . .absolutely delicious!! YUM!! Thanks for sharing!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
These were perfect! I used coconut oil instead of the butter, just for something different. Yum, this might become my new go to recipe for pancakes!

Belgian Endive au Gratin

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Absolutely delicious! We used prosciutto instead of deli ham and didn't really measure the spices. My husband would like to replace some of the milk with Belgian beer next time we make this. I cooked the endive, put it in ice water, then gently squeezed out the excess water into a towel before wrapping with the prosciutto. Ours did not turn out watery at all!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
These were pretty good. . .there's one here on Allrecipes (cream cheese sugar cookies) I do like better, it has a better flavor. . .but these were easier to roll out. I used sugar cookie icing for the tops.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
YUM!! I was worried about the frosting, I pulled out my powdered sugar and only had about a cup. . .so, I mixed the powdered sugar with the cooled cocoa/butter mix, added the vanilla, and just added milk until I got it into a nice spreadable consistency. The brownies are delicious, I made them according to the directions. My kids are begging me for more as I'm typing this!!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
Flavor was excellent. Used fresh rosemary from my garden. Made it by hand, no bread machine. My only problem is it didn't rise well. . .I guess my yeast wasn't fresh (even though I just bought it last week). I will make it again with different yeast! Served it with olive oil and fresh cracked pepper.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Yum! My family loved this! We added 1 1/2 cups diced ham and used Cream of Potato Soup. It was so yummy! If I wasn't serving it to kids I would have kicked it up with a little cayenne in the topping.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
I make these all the time, I can't believe I've never reviewed them! I use butter instead of shortening. I usually mix them with my food processor, but sometimes I've had to use a pastry blender to cut in the butter. I've been out of milk before while making these and used plain yogurt instead--which was fine. They always turn out and are delicious. I love them with sausage gravy or with lemon curd. Yum!

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Used this batter for mushrooms and onion rings. Turned out great!! Did add a little extra salt and some garlic powder for flavor. I'm happy this recipe didn't need to sit for an hour like others on all recipes.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
Fantastic flavor, but I think the time is wrong for these. . .when I left them in for 12 minutes they burned. I had to pull them out at 8 minutes. Also, it was my first time using a cookie press and I wasn't impressed with how the cookies were turning out so I rolled the rest of the dough into balls and made jam thumbprint cookies.
