Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Holy camoley, this soup is the business!!!! I did what the reviewers said and used 8 cups of chicken stock instead of 10 cups water and I went the extra mile and sauteed the mirepoix with veggie oil, seasoning salt and regular Mrs. Dash. The only suggestion would be to add the sausage at the last 30 minutes, maybe hour because it was a little mushy. Made this for the Bears/SeaHawks playoff game and it's been a hit with my friends and the Bears are winning! This is some lucky soup, so I will make this again if the Bears make it to the Super Bowl ;)

Grandma B's Bean Soup

I love you, Renee and your Grandma B! This recipe is an awesome base for my tweaking and I will be making this again in the not-too-distant future. For those out there who found the soup too greasy, salty or bland, here are some tips to help you along the way. 1)Don't use a ham hock, which tends to be too salty. Use a bone-in ham steak. 2)Sautee your ham to draw out those yummy juices and sugars. 3)Sautee your mirepoix in E.V.O.O., seasoning salt and Mrs. Dash. 4)Use 4C broth, 4C water and add a wee bit more salt and Mrs. Dash 5)Ham bone and 2 bay leaves in soup. VERY integral. I hope these tips are useful. Drop me a line if they are...bon appetit!!

Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting

This recipe right here IS the business! I followed other reviewers advice and slapped this on the A-1 Banana Cake. The folks I made it for loved it and I snuck a taste off the spatula...heaven! BTW, the bourbon isn't overwhelming, so use the alloted amount. I can't thank Pooka enough....love you for this!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This recipe is the business!!! I did make two little alterations to the recipe: 1/2C water, 1/2C red wine and I seasonded the the onions with Mrs. Dash and seasoning salt (a Sistah's best friend). Other than that, the meat came out boss and that gravy...I'm still dreaming about that gravy. This was THE best pot roast recipe I've ever used. May use a 1 1/2C of liquid next time. Mucho, mucho Key for posting this recipe :)

Chocolate Cream Frosting

I'm being forced to give a rating of 1 star(minus 5 stars more like it). I wasted sooo much time AND money making this. I should have listened to others reviewers about the clumps from the pudding mix. I can follow any basic recipe and this one was not to my liking.

Authentic, No Shortcuts, Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Salut, cher....j'aime tu! I made this recipe for TrueBlood's season finale and it was on point! I listened to some of the Louisiana natives and used the Holy Trinity and Aidell's Andouille sausage. Also used broth instead of water and did a mix of Creole seasoning and Mrs. Dash....It was awesome! BTW, listen to the others and use only 6 cups of liquid instead of the full 10. Even lessening it to 8 was too much but it did give me extra cooking liquid to use for another dish. Will sooo be making this again as soon as I can :)

Guacamole

What the deuce?! This guac is fanfreakintastic!!! I did add a jalapeno instead of the cayenne..very worth it. Anyway, never buy guac again. Just spend $5 and make this. Now, to continue stuffing my face with deliciousness....

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

8 BILLION STARS!!!! I made this for the staff at one of my favourite bars and they all went ape(no pun intended) for this. I didn't get a chance to eat it but they all said it was the best thing I ever made for them. Gonna have to cheat on my diet and try this one myself :)
