Heavenly White Cake

This might be the best cake I've ever made! I forgot to add the extra 1/2 cup of milk which I will do the next time and because I use almond baking emulsion, 1 tsp was a little much but those are both on me so no stars taken away. I made this as 2-nine inch cakes but omitted frosting and took one of the layers to my parents. It was evening snack time when I got there so they cut into immediately and each had more than one piece because they thought it was so yummy. While the steps are significant, they are critical and well worth the effort. I highly recommend this recipe and will use it from now on when I am asked for white cupcakes (my side job).

White Yeast Loaves

Since the weather is starting to cool off, I got a wild idea that it was time to try my hand at baking bread. All I can say is WOW! I am apparently a fabulous baker...or more accurately this recipe is not only easy to follow but fantastic as well. The steps are clear and easy to follow. The only changes I made were using butter instead of shortening (I don't keep it in my house) and using only 1/4 cup of sugar. I decided to share 1/2 a loaf with my parents to get an honest opinion (yes, my mother will tell it like it is and not sugar-coat it) and I got a call this morning asking if I was taking orders because she wanted two more loaves because she couldn't stop eating it. Don't be scared by the number of steps and the length of each because it really is very easy, just takes a while to complete but WELL worth the effort!

Fabulous Football Dip

My friends and I have been making this dip for years but we call it 3-2-1 Dip because we use 3 packages of cream cheese, 2 cans of Rot-tel and 1lb hot breakfast sausage. Throw it all in the crock pot on high for about 15 mins to melt the cream cheese, mix it around and then reduce the heat to low/warm. If you're lucky enough to have left-overs, it's good reheated in the mic. I just took this to my dinner club's annual After-Christmas White Elephant party and had to give out the recipe to everyone!
