Turkey Mushroom Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2004
I used 1 Tbsp of the hot sauce because the 1/2 cup seemed a bit much. It wasn't that spicy and probably could have used 2 Tbsp. This recipe is more like a cross between chili and spaghetti sauce. I left the bell pepper and onion in large chunks to make it more stew like, as well as sliced the mushrooms rather than chop. If I were to make it again, I would serve it over pasta or rice. It wasn't bad, but I have a better spaghetti sauce recipe that I can add some hot sauce to.

Cheddar Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I've never made quiche before, but I followed some of the advice and it turned out great. I used a frozen 9 inch deep dish crust. Instead of cooking bacon, I used 1/2 cup bacon bits and added 1 cup spinach at the end of cooking til just wilted. I also halved the cheddar cheese. Everyone loved it and I'll definitely make again.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2004
I have made this with ground turkey and with ground beef; both work well. I wasn't sure whether to serve the sauce on the side or mix it with the meat, but found it easier to serve to my kids when I mixed them together. I found this to be a great, light dinner served with some rice and asian salad. Delicious!

Lazy Golumbkis

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2004
I put everything in the crock pot this morning, stirred it and left it til my son got home eight hours later. He stirred it and turned it off. It tasted okay, but the texture of the rice and cabbage was too mushy. I think it would have been better if I was able to add the rice and cabbage later in the day so it would not have over cooked.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
I changed the recipe a bit...I was looking for a way to use leftover Christmas ham. Instead of bacon, I used 1 cup diced ham, cheddar cheese instead of Swiss, and Italian seasoning for the basil. I also used full sized muffin tins. With Grands biscuits, it made 16 cups and my kids loved them for breakfast. A bit salty, but still delicious.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2003
I made the salsa portion the night before. I liked it, but it was better when it was freshly made. The day I served it with the chips, the kids went for the cinnamon chips without the salsa so I ended up with lots of leftover fruit.

Marinated Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2003
I made the recipe as is except for the parsley, which I forgot at the store. Everyone loved it! By the time I was able to try some appetizers at Easter, there were only a few left. Next time I'll double the recipe.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
My husband, son and I thought this was delicious, but my other son and daughter didn't like the garlic. I used red potatoes and fat-free half and half, left out the sesame seeds. Rich and creamy!

Cornbread Muffins II

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
I needed at least 40 cornbread muffins for my daughter's classroom Thanksgiving feast. I doubled this recipe and got 41 muffins. I actually made it twice because the dog got to my first batch...she loved them. So did the kids in my daughter's class.

Dad's Spaghetti

Reviewed: May 6, 2002
My mom made this spaghetti all the time while I was growing up, except she also added some chopped green pepper and a can of golden mushroom soup. It is delicious!
