Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
If I hadn't eaten a few cookies as I was baking them, I wouldn't have gotten any! All gone that same night! I did not have cream of tartar, so I omitted the baking soda and substituted 2 teaspoons baking powder for the soda and tartar. Baked for 8 minutes exactly. The best snicker doodle we have ever had!!!

Tomato Basil Soup I

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
My husband, who likes tomatoes more than me, made this recipe for dinner last night, and these comments come from him. ... I was hoping for something with a bit of body and with a bit more tomato flavor. What I got was something sort of brothy and non-descript--hardly savory and barely more than chicken broth seasoned with a hint of tomato and a hint of other spices. In fact, basil was barely discernable. I added corn starch to thicken the soup to a tolerable level, and with enough crackers, we ate it, but I'll be looking for a different version which tastes more like tomatoes and less like something from a can.

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
It was easy to prepare as I smashed up the broccoli after simmering it, negating the use of a blender. I used half cheddar cheese (all I had), and cream cheese because I had some I needed to use it. It came out thick and tasted great. To the person whose soup did not thicken, make sure all cornstarch and water are combined with no lumps and I stirred for about five minutes slowly till consistent to my own desired thickness.
