Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2013
This is definitely worth the many 5-star ratings that it has received! The recipe is well written and tastes FANTASTIC! Do *not* skip the curry powder...it makes this dish. I served it with hot french bread and a pumpkin bundt cake. Best meal ever!

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I followed the advice of other reviewers and increased the butter in the recipe by 2 T, but otherwise left the recipe the sam. Dough was perfect! Finished cookies tasted exactly as they should. I think the 'aftertaste' comments were a result of people's personal preferences--there's no aftertaste in my opinion, just perfect buttery goodness. :)

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
This is now the ONLY way I prepare asparagus. Love, love, love the intense butter/garlic flavor. Once it's done cooking, I put the asparagus on a serving plate & drizzle the remaining butter/oil over the top. Heaven!!

Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
This is the first time I've ever boiled ribs before baking them in sauce...and I'll NEVER EVER go back to the old way again! They were moist, flavorful and very tender. Loved the 'jazzed up' bbq sauce too. I ended up using more BBQ sauce...2:1 ratio to ketchup. Tasted fantastic. Next time the only thing I'll change is to make MORE RIBS!

A Marinade To Die For

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Loved this marinade! Didn't have any steak sauce so used chili sauce instead. I was also out of red wine vinegar so I used white wine vinegar instead. Marinated a 2 lb pork loin for about 5 hours & then grilled over indirect heat for an hour. Fantastic!! Definitely making this again.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
I would give this 6 stars if it was available. We made this recipe multiple times over the summer and will use it again when grilling weather is upon us. Try it with lime juice instead of lemon...yummy! As other reviewers have suggested, don't leave the shrimp in the marinade more than an hour. The lemon/lime juice will cook the shrimp.

Maple Baked Pork Loin Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Excellent! This made a moist, flavorful roast. Normally when I cook a lean roast, it turns out dry. Not with this recipe! Thanks for sharing Janet!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
I followed the recipe as stated, adding black beans like another reviewer suggested. Fantastic on its own! However I found an additional item that takes this recipe over the top: I broke up some Hint Of Lime tortilla chips over the soup. Oh My Word! This is the 2nd time I've made this recipe since October and it's going on the menu for my annual cookie exchange. Thanks Elena!!

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2002
I wasn't very impressed with my results-the bread seemed bland to me. Then again, maybe I've just grown a high tolerance for garlic! If I make it again, I will increase the parmesean cheese and add granulated garlic to the butter mixture as well.

I love this marinade! Perfect blend of terriyaki and citrus flavors. I got rave reviews from my dad, who is a master of the grill!

Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
This recipe turned out exactly as promised-creamy, rich and delicious! I normally don't like chocolate cheesecakes, but this one was to die for! My guests all raved. I also used espresso in place of the coffee and liquor in the base. For the whipped cream, I used rum extract instead of liquor. I will definitely make this again.

Sweet and Sour Pork I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2002
We love this recipe! It was quick & easy to prepare and the sauce is delicious. I didn't have plum sauce so I used the syrup/juice from the pineapple instead. I first made this recipe several years ago. Now, I double the sauce component and use dried red pepper flakes in place of the whole pepper and omit the tomatoes. The pepper flakes give it a nice zing, I think.

Quick Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2002
My kids loved this dish! I used cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken and added some french fried onions. Delicious!
