About this Cook
I work second shift as an RN, so I need to make good dinners for my family, as well as something I can take with me, since I rarely have opportunity to leave the floor to get a meal.
My favorite things to cook
Roasts, stir fry, soups and grilled meals. I have a weakness for cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies, making snickerdoodles, peanut blossoms, as well as rosettes, which is a Norwegian fried wafer with powder sugar.
My cooking triumphs
I was thrilled when I began to make gravy like a pro! I no longer use canned frosting or cake mix, Everything I make is fresh.
My cooking tragedies
Tried a new recipe that I didn't taste during cooking, and it was horrible!!

Marinated Turkey Breast
Didn't marinade the full four hours, doing two hours instead, it was great! Did it on the grill, took a little longer than 30 mins, but it's well worth the wait!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread
I used to have a recipe that I loved, until finding this one. I agree the pureed bananas are a better option, never a problem, since I freeze the bananas left when the brown spots show up and no one will eat them here. I thaw them before making the batter, so they're pretty much mushy by then. I have done the chocolate chips in the past, and to that I would recommend using sliced maraschino cherries for a rich change of pace. But for the best banana bread for breakfast and with coffee, this is awesome!!

Chicken Noodle Soup
I've always used Grandma's recipe, but I thought I would give this one a try, it really upgraded her recipe even more!!!!
