Baked Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
The other recipe on site doesn't have Worcestershire sauce. Someone brought these to a party yesterday and they were wonderful. She used Hawaiian rolls in lieu of buns. She used worchestershire. And you must use HONEY MUSTARD.

Citrus Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
This is the first time I have ever brined a turkey. It was deemed the best turkey I've ever made and asked for me to make it this way from now on. Moist and flavorable! Wish I heard about this years ago.

Mom's Rum Cake

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Hubby gave this a 5. I didn't have dark rum but will get some for next time. I think our rum was old. He couldn't stop eating it. I poked holes after taking out of over and cooling a bit. Doubled sauce, poured in holes (no longer than 15 minutes-it can get hard) flipped it on a cake pan - and brushed remaining sauce over cake letting it dry between layers. He says I need to make this very often. Thank you!!

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
This is great. You really need to add taco seasoning to the meat. I didn't have every exact ingredient, but close enough. Only used 1 lb ground sirloin. This will definately be a staple around here. After taking it out of the oven it was a bit sloppy, and layers didn't hold up. But next day after being refriderated it was great..everything melded togethr.just cut a piece and nuke. I think I always make a day ahead.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
This is unbelieveable! Tender and moist. I do not like vinegar or anything sour - so I figured I would just eat something else when I served this . It is the best pork loin I have ever had. We could not stop eating. Like other reviews I added 1/3 cup honey to marinade and placed big thick slices of yellow onion under the roast. Then topped off my plate with the onions. My husband raved and raved...I'm raving too. For the steak seasioning I used Montreal Steat Grill Mates. Thank you for this now family favorite!!!!!

Graham Cracker Crust II

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
Easy - To make it easier I put crackers in zip lock (not zipped) and crush with rolling pin. Less messy. I make this crust for my cherry/blueberry delight that I am always forced to make (grandkids) on special occasions.

White Chili II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
I add 1/4 tsp of ground clove, 1/2 tsp sweet basil, and 1/2 tsp oregano. My recipe is just like this with no butter or oil or flour. I make in crock pot. I also use a 48 oz northern beans. Pretty much the same recipe...but, try the extra spices...and I am not stingy with the cummin..I use 1 tsp.

Add a bay leaf and a can of beef broth. My husband came up with this idea and has been making it for years.

BBQ Potatoes with Green Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I make this often. I go heavy on the onions and use olive oil instead of butter. I also ad a clove of garlic for each individual pack and sometimes frozen green beans. Yummy

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I have made these many times - in fact just this past weekend I taught my 2 granddaughters (age 8 & 6 1/2) to make them. Good for appetizers or a nice brunch.

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
This is how I make my baked potatos after asking a restaurant how they get their potatos so fluffy inside. They said the salt (I use a course salt) brings out the water in the potato - so it is fluffy. I do sometimes wrap in foil to bake.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2008
I have made cabbage diet soup before and loved it. This however tasted so blah I could not eat it. My husband poured Franks Red Hot sauce in it. I think some spices would help - and I would omit the water and use only broth. I also used V8 - so maybe that was the culprit. Guess I'll have to give it a whirl again.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I have made this recipe for years. My only difference is I omit the Olive Oil and put in a tablespoon of hot salsa. I also use more onions than this recipe. I get requests for it all the time. The lemon juice helps keep the guacamole from turing too brown.

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
This is a very good tuna salad recipe. The curry I had on hand was a little old so I don't know if that affected the curry taste (not too strong) but I will definately make this recipe from now on. I added mayo until I got the consistancy I wanted. Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
My husband said give it more than 5 stars. This was totally awesome. He bought chops that weren't that great. You know how they put a couple nice ones on top then underneath they are more like pork steak...well I was so dissapointed in the meat, but after using this recipe they were unbelieveable!!! We can't wait to make them with a good cut of chops. They fell apart and the sauce was out of this world. Served with mashed potatoes and Yum to the Tum!! One of the best recipes I have tried from this site. Thanks!

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Hubby said to give it a 4. I thought more of a 3, but my taste buds are off from a sinus infection. It did give me terrible indigestion later...maybe all that cheese. I may make it over someday.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
Gotta tell ya....this is my comfort food. My husband makes the best and he uses 100% whole wheat bread, I can't believe it's not butter spray and velveeta. I can use the same ingredients and mine doesn't taste like his. He makes it with love...usually when I need comforted. Good with chicken noodle soup when you have the stuffies :)

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
My husband said to give it a 5 star. I think I put too much Parmesan cheese on...my bad. He really loved it. I also baked it instead of broil...next time I'll do on grill as my broiler doesn't broil evenly.
