About this Cook
My parents taught my siblings and me to cook at an early age. All of us are quite proficient. I love to experiment, and to find new things that not only I will like, but that my two children and boyfriend will all eat as well. We are devling more and more into natural cooking, growing our own, and that kind of thing. Our goal is to cut out as much premade and processed foods as we can.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, veggie pizza, "Ted's" Casserole
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making my daughter do the grudge work as "training" buah hahahaha! Our new thing is for my son and daughter to help me make videos for YouTube on how to cook better on a low income.
My cooking triumphs
My first ever experiment in the kitchen yielded a delicious mustard-citrus chicken that my children love. I have also been expanding my repetiore since my boyfriend eats a lot of food that I do not. Considering my very limited array of dishes and utensils, I am doing well!
My cooking tragedies
Last time I tried to fry chicken... ugh :p And the time I tried to develop a sauce for chicken or fish that I had literally dreamed up. Word of advice: If you dream of a new recipe, write it down AS IS and try it before you change it.

Coconut Date Bars
I added dried cranberries, flax and chia, walnuts and sunflower kernels. Kind of threw together what I had. My husband needed them for a school survival trip. His classmates raved!

Chuck's Protein Bars
They're actually in the oven crisping now. We added chia and flax seeds, broken up banana chips, craisins, honey rather than maple syrup, subbed one cup granola to the oatmeal, and added a dash of nutmeg. I didn't use the chocolate or protein powder. They were pretty thick, I cut one and it pretty much fell apart but the kids loved the taste. They definitely want more of these!

Whole Egg Mayonnaise
We liked this, but it had to sit in the fridge for two days before the flavors melded together right. The second time I made it I added lemon juice and a little more salt. It was alright. I will continue to tweak it here and there until we find the right mix. But a great starter! My only complaint was that it seemed to gum up the blender and I had to stop and scrap a lot.
