Ham and Split Pea Soup Recipe - A Great Soup
My kids didn't really care for split pea soup 'til one day I made this. Now they love it! This recipe is so super easy, and I think the ham makes it a heartier dish. Enough to just eat this as the main entree with some bread on the side. I usually season my food really well, but I think the ham adds so much flavor that salt and pepper are not really necessary at the end. It's delicious just as is. Two big thumbs up from my household!

Cabbage Jambalaya
Very easy to prepare and quite tasty. I used beef broth instead of plain water, smoked turkey sausage, threw in 4 cloves of garlic and 3/4 tsp salt instead of the garlic salt. Great recipe to get my kids to eat cabbage. There was plenty of leftovers since it makes a huge pot of it. I'm sure they'll be gone by the next time around though.

Simple Scones
Super easy recipe. I took a previous reviewer's advice and substituted whole wheat flour and flax seed meal for the flour in the recipe, and I also made the cranberry/orange variation using my food processor. These came out great! I couldn't wait for them to cool when they were done. I essentially grabbed one straight from the pan, and I was not disappointed.
