Pasta Siciliano

We've been making a pasta very similar to this one for years. The BIG difference is that no Sicilian in their right mind would ever use canned black olives. Take the time to find good olives. They are definitely out there in the regular grocery. But remember, friends don't let friends eat those nasty canned California black olives.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

I reduced the amount of cheese to about a cup of shredded cheddar jack and added a couple of slices of american cheese. I also used Jane's Crazy Mixed Up Salt instead of regular salt and added a dash of garlic powder. I swapped out crushed crackers for the bread crumbs. I used one of Paula Deen's tricks to soak up the grease: You place the rolled up loaf on a few slices of bread. Like some of the others, I thought it needed a glaze and used my mother's old stand-by: Heinz ketchup. It did need a touch more than the 1 hour baking time, though. Would make this one again, though.

Cheesy Little Link Snack Wraps

My mother started making these for me 30 years ago. It was always a special treat. I've started making them for my little girl, Rhiannon, and she loves them just as much as her mommy did when she was a little girl. It's just one of those comfort foods that really takes you back.

Our favourite salad from a restaurant that went out of business. Great to find a good recipe for the dressing. We added chunks of chopped kosher dill pickles to the salad and used red onions rather than green onions. Try it with the pickles, it's an awesome addition.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

This is almost the same recipe that I've made for years. I add a can of Ro-Tel with cilantro and lime to mine. And I use a roasted chicken from the deli. Adds a great flavour and it's a major time saver if you're really busy. My entire family loves it!
