About this Cook
I am a single dad, divorced in 2005. Never went in the kitchen before, except to microwave coffee. I started cooking for me and the kids and fell in love with it. It's like being at work, I guess, always multi-tasking! I'm no chef, I just like to cook healthy and tasty meals. AllRecipes has been invaluable in that.
My favorite things to cook
Asian, Mexican, Italian dishes. We make our own salsa, because we go through SO MUCH of it, we made up a cool recipe and it keeps changing and getting better. Slow cooker things - roasts, chili, gumbo.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pizza on Friday nights and Mexican food for Christmas lunch! Christmas is stressful enough without having to do the huge feast - we do that on Thanksgiving, though.
My cooking triumphs
Full blown Thanksgiving dinner, with homemade stuffing (I've submitted the recipe). My first one came out pretty late, but good, then I learned timing a bit better.
My cooking tragedies
Amazingly...none. I fully expected to have a few things bomb and have to run to get fast food. But the things I do are fairly simple, and so far no failures! One time I did make a big batch of lovely gumbo for a party and left it out overnight, had to remake it in a rush the next morning, I guess you can count that!

Tiffany's Sweet and Spicy Meatballs
Whoever Tiffany is, she changed our lives forever. My family's fav now. I am in Brasil, gonna make this for the fam here tonight! 10 out of 10! Everyone doesn't want the hot, but I do. I can make it just sweet and sour for others, hot and sour for those who like it hot! Thanks so much!!!
