Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
So easy, so good! Even though I know cheddar bakes "greasy", it was the only cheese in the fridge so I made do. Hoping next time to have Swiss on hand so as to experience this wonder fully! If cheddar is all you have on hand, it's best omit the butter. Would love to try this cold, but I fear that it will be all gone by tomorrow!

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2004
I love this recipe and make it again and again. The only modification I make is to use more PB and less oil which is a personal taste issue, I believe. We haven't have "ordinary" coleslaw since I discover this gem. Thanks, Bobbi, for a really great recipe!

Teriyaki Chicken for the Busy Cook

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2004
I have to agree with the other reviewers who said that this chicken does not evoke a true teriyaki taste. However, the recipe requires so little work and the chicken turns out so tender, I'll definitely be making this one again.

Honey Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2004
I have to admit I cheated a little with this. Instead of watching a saucepan, I put my milk in the microwave and let it go for 3 minutes. (This always brings the milk to a froth in mine, but times will differ depending on machines and it's best to keep a close eye on the situation as the milk bubbles up rapidly (and over the sides of the container) when it's boiling.) I had all the other ingredients ready to go and as soon as the milk was close to boiling over, I added it to the rest. This doesn't result in a solid pudding, more of a custard, but it does have a fabulous taste.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2004
I really really hate to be the voice of dissension, but I wasn't too keen on this recipe. Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference, but I made this dish for my meatloaf-loving husband and didn't get the oohs and aahs I was hoping for. I found the end result to be overly sweet and he gently suggested that we go back to our more traditional recipe. The loaf, however, had splendid form - it held its shape really well and smelt great. Obviously, the recipe works well, it's just a question of taste.

Cucumber Sunomono

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2004
While this didn't taste like the sunomono that we normally get from restaurants, it had a fresh clean taste to it. I went with the recipe as written and it worked out quite well.

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2004
This very easy recipe results in a nice high loaf of cinnamon bread which will fill your house with a delicious tantalizing fragrance. I followed my instincts and added more cinnamon than called for - personal taste, an extra 1/2 teapspoon in the mix and 1 tablespoon instead of a teaspoon in the topping. I'll probably cutdown on the sugar a little the next time I make it though my sweet-toothed husband thinks it's perfect the way it is.

My husband made this for us last night. Forgot to add the brown sugar, but it still was delicious. Definitely a keeper - we'll make this again and soon!

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2002
This recipe was a surprise hit with my husband. I wanted a quick and easy dish that utilized some leftover broccoli and tried Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole. I love recipes that require you to mixed up all the ingredients, throw it in the oven and forget about it 'til it's done. This is one of those. Not only is it incredibly labour-free, but also it turns out fabulous each time I make it. It's just one of those great comfort sidedishes that you can enjoy with very little effort.
