The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
Made the dough about 18 hours before I rolled out on a powdered sugar surface. Added half cup of brown sugar and an extra half teaspoon of vanilla. Rave reviews and baked in no time!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
I'm embarrassed to say that I'm a foodie and am just venturing into the land of homemade cranberry sauce. I followed another user's suggestion and used half white sugar/half brown and added 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Next time, I'll reduce the OJ to half cup (some guests thought it was a tad bitter). Such an easy recipe! Kudos!

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Ridiculously delicious! I love mushroom so I bypassed the "blender/purée" step. Since I'm not a big sherry fan, I reduced to 1/4 of a teaspoon. I'm hooked!

Wish I could say this tastes great but I didn't get a single scoop. They devoured it on Labor Day!

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
Why would I ever buy store jam again? This recipe is BEYOND simple and amazing! I followed the instructions precisely and skipped the water bath process. I also boiled for about 13 minutes to get near the 220 degree mark. I placed the liquid into the jar and turned upside down for 10 minutes as others have suggested. Made Chef John's Buttermilk biscuits this morning and topped with the jam for a pre-Father's Day breakfast with my favorite old guy. A must try!

Chef John's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
These were delightful! Slight modifications include freezing the butter and then cutting into the flour mixture. I then placed it back in the freezer for about five minutes before adding the cold buttermilk. Perfect texture.

Chewy Coconut Cookies

What an awesome change of pace from the traditional cookie! These came out flat and I absolutely LOVED the appearance. Can't wait to make again...and again. So easy. I didn't change a thing!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
Wow,wow, and more wow! I made dessert for two so I used a pie pan instead of the recommended dish. I used the suggested amounts for the crust, which perfectly doubled the amount allowing for a top and BOTTOM crust. I had the nerve to add pecans and walnuts! Three apples worked perfectly and I halfed the ingredients for sprinkling over the apples. I omitted the water and used butter. Deeeeeeelish!

Classic Waffles

Why would I EVER buy store mix again?! I love the light texture achieved by sifting the flour. I also add a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg. Just perfect...

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
I don't have a bread machine so I used K. Praper's format (User on this site with the highest ranked most helpful review). Instead of adding to kitchen aide mixer, I kneaded for 8 minutes and then formed into small golf balls. I then dunked each ball into a bowl of melted butter to coat and allowed to rise an additional hour while laying on the baking sheet. Deeeeeeelish! Not a single roll was left!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
I'm the pie champion! This recipe drives the crowd WILD. I used four granny smiths and two galas along with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle of nutmeg. I skipped the whole "pour over" approach and used milk instead of water. AWESOME!

Awesome and easy pie crust for either dinner pies or dessert! For apple pie and cobblers, I add two tablespoons of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Delightful!

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
FANTASTIC! I'm not a fan of the bitter wine taste so I omitted and added a full cup of broth. A hefty squeeze of lemon was enough zing for me so I left out the zest. Seasoned with granulated garlic and onion flakes as well. Added two handfuls of spinach to the garlic sauté in the beginning stage and a delightful recipe is born!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
The pork chops were unbelievably tender after marinating for 24 hours. I'm not a huge fan of the powerful sweet taste so next time I will only use one tablespoon of brown sugar instead of two.

Sock it to Me Cake V

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
This cake is a it too heavy. I suggest usingthe Baker's German Chocolate cakerecipe as a base and omit the chocolate. As previous reviewers mentioned, you should probably use three teaspoons of cinnamon and not tablespoons. With the left over nut mixture, sprinkle on the top layer of batter before placing pan in oven.

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

A nice diversion from the same 'ole dinner recipes. I suggest making 1.5 of the sauce so that it's not dry. I enjoy cooking with Sherry so this was a nice dish!
