I can't fault the recipe, because I followed it exactly (with the exception of using chips instead of chopped chocolate but I wouldn't think that should affect the taste) and the cookies turned out fine. It's just that when I hear the word "chewy" I'm thinking more of your typical moist, dense, traditional chocolate chip cooke texture, and the most accurate word for these, I think, is "fluffy". Which just isn't how I prefer my cookies. Also, I'm baking in a gas oven and 10-12 minutes was far too long for this recipe. For my second batch I just did about 9 and they weren't as dark and dry.
