When I was 12, I was asked to do some work for an elderly neighbor and when it was time to pay me, she asked me to go to the attic and take what ever I wanted for payment. Now I say ...Dumdum! I picked an old Good housekeeping Cookbook (1896).Little did I know until 25 years later, that I had a passion for cooking.I am self taught, and more passionate than imaginable when it comes to knowledge and creation of food. My customers are so appreciative.
It NEVER feels like work.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking and baking ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We hold a tree trimming party every first Saturday of December for the last 28 years. It started with me not liking to decorate the Christmas tree. When we were first together, we invited friends and as our family grew, it became us, friends and their friends. This is only finger foods but everyone can request their favourite at the party. Anything and everything goes and people mingle while they munch, sip and hang ornaments.It's so much fun.
My cooking triumphs
I have not advertised in any way, and my business is now 6 and 1/2years old with approximately 60 regular customers and growing.Between, Meal Prep, Bakery, and Specialty Catering;
I have a hard time keeping up.
My cooking tragedies
Early on in our marriage, I made my hubby a white fish meal with tomato juice with crushed crackers and chips on top... GROSS. The other tragedy,was putting a purple cabbage into a slow cooker along with the remaining ingredients for the beef stew. Can you visualize a PURPLE...all PURPLE stew.You know the line; "You eat with your eyes first". Well, no eyes or mouth ate this stew.
