Beautiful, delicious pie. I made it exactly according to the recipe, including whisking the custard like crazy while it was coming, and it came out perfectly. It was sliceable and pretty darn good after an hour in the fridge, but it was absolutely amazing the next day. We really liked the jello-like texture of the haupia layer and the rich chocolatey velvet of the chocolate layer. Personally I also preferred the whipped cream on top of the haupia layer, I think it helped give more of a contrast with the chocolate.
