Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2007
I have made this several times and it always turns out perfectly. The only thing I changed was I omitted the addition of hot dogs.

Broccoli and Onion Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I thought perhaps I would try this since it had good reviews...however, 3/4 of it went in the trash and everyone who tried it, didn't like it. The broccoli was mushy and the entire dish was tasteless. I won't be making this one again. Save the ingredients and just steam your broccoli...

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This is really easy and really yummy. For the baking cocoa I used half dutch processed and half black cocoa (super dark chocolate)so it was very dark and very rich. We skipped the half and half and opted for homemade cinnamon whipped cream on top. All 4 of my children enjoyed warmning up with this after playing out in the snow. Will make this again on a cold winter day!

Party Punch IX

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Made this for my twin daughters 5th birthday party. It was quite a hit. The adults and kids alike loved it. It's easy to make and to throw together when you're ready to party. I took the advice of another reviewer and divided it into several smaller containers and that was much easier to handle than 2 big solid blocks of frozen punch. Really good--will hold on to this recipe for other parties!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
These were pretty tasty after a few adustments to seasoning. I thought that they seemed a little blah so ended up adding garlic powder in addition to the cloves. Once they had a little more kick to them they were awesome. Would take one of these over a real burger any day. I couldn't pass them off on my kids but my husband and I really enjoyed them.

Lentil Chili

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
I, of course, made a few changes to the original recipe. I don't eat meat, so omitted the turkey. I also added "Chili ready" diced tomotoes and didn't have tomoato sauce, so used tomato paste and added a little extra water to thin it. Also, added extra spices to make it a little spicer. The end result was fantastic! Very filling and tasty--Will be a keeper.

Easy Eggless Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Made this for my twin daughters 6th bday--one of my girls has egg allergies. It was very moist but lacked flavor despite my use of high quality chocolate. Will try again and tweak the recipe some. Has potential just seems to be lacking something.

Arkansas Green Beans

These were ok. Nothing great. Could be improved with the use of fresh green beans instead of canned.

Southern Butter Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
These are very simple to make and turn out great every time. I mixed them in my kitchen aid stand mixer which cut down on time some. Tried once using warm water like some other reviewers suggested and they didn't turn out as well. Follow the directions as stated and they are delish! Can't keep the kids out of them. We like to sprinkle a little thyme on them before we bake them.

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
Very easy. I halved the recipe so I wouldn't have a bunch of it if it wasn't good. However, it was very moist and flavorful. A good balance of chocolate and banana. The loaf was gone the day I made it and my husband has already put in a request for more.

Bean Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
These are good with the addition of chili powder and cumin. Without I think they would be lacking in flavor. Also for the tomatoes, I added a 15 oz can of diced tomatoes with green chili's. Didn't fry them--seemed like an unnecessary step since the tortilla crisp nicely in a 400 oven when brushed lightly with some olive oil.

High Protein Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2010
I made a few changes to the recipe to use things I already had in the pantry. Didn't have powdered soy milk, so just used a bit of regular milk. Also didn't mix this in the bread machine; did it by hand. Dissolved the yeast in warm (110) water and let stand until foamy...then proceeded. Allowed to rise approx. an hour, punched down, put in loaf pan, rise again for about 35 min and then baked at 350 until golden. My boys absolutely devoured it and I actually only got one small taste of it. The texture was perfect for toasting or a sandwich and had great flavor. Having another batch in rising so the rest of the family can enjoy some. Will be a keeper and probably a staple bread recipe for a long time in my house!

Cranberry Streusel Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Very easy to make and delicious. My only sub was to use dried cranberries soaked in triple sec instead of fresh cranberries. I think this would also be good with dried tart cherries...

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I made this on the stove top rather than the microwave so it took longer...Used a combo of black unsweetened cocoa and dutch process. Also fresh milk right from the cow--The family LOVED it! Thanks for the recipe.
