Low Carb Zucchini Fries

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
Maybe I did something wrong, but mine were pretty soggy. Not sure what I could have done differently.

Torsk

I used hake because it was very fresh at Whole Foods, even though I thought suspected it wouldn't really be that great because it's not cod. Well, everyone agreed that this recipe made hake unbelievably lobster-like, which is what I was shooting for for a Valentine's Day dinner. I actually planned a meal around a fantastic chardonnay that needed lobster or scallops, but they were out of my price range. This recipe did my wine justice. Thank you for sharing this!

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This recipe is a great jumping off point as it's a bit too dry. I highly suggest doubling the sauce as another reviewer suggested! THEN, it's perfect! Oh, and the second time I made it, I used crushed Cheez-Its instead of bread crumbs (didn't need the butter) and it was over-the-top delicious!

Wonderful and easy! I used real whipped cream, but that's my preference. Thank you!

Delicious! All I had was panko bread crumbs, but it was still great! Suggestion: make A LOT!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Better than I imagined! I used Guittard semi-sweet chocolate chips. Refrigerating them before breaking it apart is a HUGE help! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
I give this 5 stars as the most delicious FUDGE I'd ever had. These didn't come out as brownies; they were impossible to cut and get out of the pan. We ended up cutting off pieces with a fork. I am going to try this again with a little more flour because it really tasted great. I used Guittard chocolate, which is always a good idea!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Perhaps it was my oven, but the cook time wasn't quite long enough. I baked them at least 20 minutes longer, checking every so often. I also thought they were a bit bland, so I added extra garlic salt and Lawrey's Season Salt. Then they were very good!

Frank's® Red Hot® Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Served this during a football game and I just kept hearing 'mmm' over and over again. It really is awesome. Be prepared- it is salty, but it is delicious. I served this with tortilla chips, but celery sticks would have been a nice addition. Thanks for sharing!

Reuben Dip

Stop! Don't rinse the sauerkraut! This was good, but rinsing the sauerkraut made for tasteless cabbage, losing the zing that makes a reuben a reuben. Squeeze, but don't rinse!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
Like others, I was stunned at how well this method works! I left out a star only because I would prefer more spice; this was a bit bland. However, I did make a gravy with the drippings and made up for it completely. I highly recommend this method and thank you for posting the recipe. Next time, I will add Montreal Steak seasoning or a similar rub to the outside.

Dazzlin' Chicken -n- Dumplin's

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2011
This was a great template for the dish overall. I changed the proportions, especially the liquid- I thought it needed about twice as much and I used stock rather than water. I also used half & half rather than heavy cream because it's what I had on hand. This makes A LOT of dumplings, which is fine by me, but it should be noted that this would serve more than 6 people; perhaps ten The flavor was very good and I'm happy there were no added oils.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
Family loved it! Slight alterations: - Omitted celery seed - This does need extra sauce: Added extra broth, milk, flour, and onion for more sauce (1/4-1/3 more- just tasted and whisked until it was just right.) - Added lots of freshly ground pepper- great enhancement. - Used the water drained off of the vegetables as part of the stock. It is stock, why toss it? Thank you for the great recipe! -

Simple Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
This is probably good for someone looking for a very basic, kid-friendly sauce. It is very much like jarred sauces I've had and very heavy on the oregano. In fact, you could probably use it on a pizza.

These wings have changed my life! Okay, I'm being a little over-the-top, but seriously, I will never eat another wing any other way. I would swear they were deep fried. I've probably made these ten times. THANK YOU!
