Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2014
Great tasting meatloaf! I read a ton of reviews and took most all the advice. I kept the milk about the same, upped the bread crumbs to 1 cup, added several cloves of minced garlic, 1/2 c chopped onions and a whole packet of onion soup mix as well. I laid bacon strips across the top of the loaf, baked for about 20 mins, then slathered the sauce on top. I thought the sauce as is was a bit flat, so I added some Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbs yellow mustard, cayenne pepper, chilli powder, and some paprika - I like it to have some kick and a more full bodied barbeque like taste. It turned out fantastic, and I saved some sauce to eat with the meatloaf. Next time I will probably double the sauce, as I only put about 1/2 the sauce on top of the meatloaf to cook and I like lots of sauce :) Will definitely make again!

Strawberry Pretzel Squares

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
I'm shocked this recipe has so few reviews! I have made this numerous times and it is always a huge hit. I do make one change which is to use graham cracker crumbs instead of pretzels, but I'm sure the saltier crunch of pretzels would be just as amazing. Great summer dessert!!!!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
Great recipe. I used 1/2 c shortening and 1/4 c butter just to see how it would affect taste/texture. It was perfect. Soft, chewy, molasses-y! They are sweet, so next time I might cut down the sugar a bit. A great holiday treat!

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
Great recipe. I've made this numerous times with some modifications which I think make for a stellar dessert. I used sugar cookie mix from a bag, just as a preference. To the cream mix I add a splash of vanilla, almond extract, tsp of cinnamon, and probably 1/2c of white sugar. Canned peaches and any other fruit works fabulously. Try this, you'll love it!!

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Absolutely delicious. I have tried a number of different recipes and this is the best so far. No need to use softened butter, you can use melted butter just as easily without compromise of texture. If you like sweet cornbread this is the one! I add a few Tbsps of agave nectar for extra sweetness too. Like a previous reviewer, I used all whole wheat flour and just 2 eggs and you couldnt tell the difference.

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
Absolutely delicious. Instead of pecans, try marshmallow and pretzels with milk and white chocolate. Place the marshmallow on top of the cracker toffee layer and let the marshmallows melt a bit in the oven before topping with chocolate. Toasted slivered almonds and broken candy cane pieces are also great toppers. Try this, it is amazing!!

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
Great, easy recipe. Made in 2 9-inch rounds for a layer cake. Added an extra banana and 1/3 cup of reduced fat sour cream which made for a really moist cake. Frosted with cream cheese frosting I by JJ. Also layered in an extra sliced banana on top of the frosting for extra banana flavor.

Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
Made this last night. It was amazing! The only change I made was I baked it in a 9' pan and it rose nicely (with no modifications). As another reviewer suggested, I shaved off the top of the cake to help with the milk absorbance. The ratios and flavors were excellent. I added a little cinnamon to the whip cream and it was sooo delicious! Must try!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Oh my...I cannot stop eating this peanut buttery goodness!!! I used milk chocolate with a few teaspoons of butter for the topping, natural crunchy salty peanut butter, and this is so sinfully delicious that my waistline is expanding just thinking about it! MUST TRY!!! LOVED this!! Also super tasty to either layer in pretzels between the pb and choc layers, or jus add some onto the chocolate layer before it hardens. AM-A-ZING!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
Tasty. Thought it was better with shortening instead of butter for a more glossy, smooth, and silky texture. Also, deeper chocolate taste with some instant coffee granules/small shot of expresso.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
This was fabulous!!!! I did as others suggested and added some minced garlic as I was sauteeing the spinach. Omitted the artichokes by preference. Halved the cream cheese and sour cream (and still ended up with a ton of dip). Also added some shredded mozz/provolone I had. Sprinkled in some cayenne and black pepper. This was amazingly delicious and light cream cheese and light sour cream worked just as well! This is a must try!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

This was great. Roasting the yams whole in foil for an hour or so depending on the size of your yams gives awesome flavor instead of boiling... The family gobbled this up!!!

Delilah's Frosted Cut-Out Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
All in all, a good recipe. The dough was easy to work with, and the cookies came out tasty. One of the best sugar cookie recipes I have found so far and I have tried many. The frosting also works well with the cookies.

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
This recipe was awesome!! I never tried monkey bread before but this turned out pretty much exactly as I had hoped. Next time I make it I will layer in the sugar/butter mix as I mound up the dough rather than pouring it all at the end on top. Also, as a previous reviewer said, I had to bake it almost twice the time for it to be done and it was a bit cumbersome to have to turn it out in order to find out...but now I will know for next time. All in all, really tasty and everyone loved it!
