Caramel Pie

I followed the directions exactly and while the caramel tasted good, it had a terrible consistency, like cream of mushroom soup from a can, that made it difficult to spread. It also didn't fill up the shell. I won't be making this as a pie again, maybe as something layered in parfait cups...

Turkey Pot Pie

I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!! I just used store-bought crusts and it was still amazing. I've already made it 2 or 3 times.

Italian Bread Bowls

Very tasty, but rather flat. I noticed others said that, too, and I've made quite a bit of bread (with just as many flops as successes!), but how can you remedy this flatness? Otherwise, this was an easy, fun recipe. I added Italian Seasoning when I added the flour. My kitchen aid dough hook made this recipe even easier, too.

Oven-Baked Caramel French Toast

I had the opposite problem of the bread not getting soaked through. Mine was completely mushy. I used less bread, because of the other reviews I read. It tasted great, and the part of the bread not submerged in the egg mixture was delicious, but the texture otherwise was very disappointing. Love that caramel sauce, though! Quick and easy. Will probably use that on other stuff.

Sweet and Sour Pork I

I couldn't find tapioca starch so I used tapioca from Minute Rice. The texture was very strange, very "bumpy" for lack of a better word, and chewy. The sauce was wonderful, however. Is tapoica starch something that asian stores carry? The extensive ethnic food section at my favorite grocery store didn't have it...nevertheless, I served these with Crab Rangoon II and it was great together.
