I really like this recipe cause it's so simple, and has given me a basic idea of what should be used to cook chili. Of course I changed a few things to suit my tastes. I put two cans of black beans in it instead of one can of chili beans; a whole jalapeno without the seeds instead of 4 teaspoons; two bellpeppers instead of half a cup; a whole onion instead of a cup; and a half pound of beef instead of one. Yeah, my version is a bit more healthy. Also, I've found that it turns out too watery. So I looked up ways to remedy this:
1. let it simmer without a lid so that the water can be released through steam
2. add a small can of tomato paste
3. mix 1/4 tsp of starch with a bit of water and incorporate into chili, continue adding until it's the right thickness
