Pork Tenderloin in Bourbon

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2003
We eat alot of pork, so I'm always looking for new recipes. This one looked very interesting, so I made it and didn't tell anyone. The whole family loves it, I've even cooked it for a chef friend and pro football player and they loved it too. A keeper for sure.

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
Really, really good. The only thing different I did was use less oil. I only used 1 cup but 3/4 c. might be enough too, and I baked the chicken at 350 F until the juices ran clear (didn't feel like bundling up to BBQ in the snow). It was a big hit with our guests. One of the fellows asked for the recipe right away and was making it the following weekend.

Louisiana Shrimp Creole II

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
Good recipe. Made it for a cajun dinner we had not long ago. My husband, who never liked spicy food said it should have been a little spicier and when can we have it again!

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2006
I started this soup out in the slow cooker but threw it into the stock pot when it was taking its sweet time after 4 hours on high. I put a little more peas in because I love thick pea soup and I used 2 cloves of garlic instead of powder and it was just fine. My husband loved this soup too, it will become a regular appearance on our menu.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: May 30, 2006
The only thing I did different was cut down the sugar to 1/4 cup. That was sweet enough for us. Otherwise was very good, will definitely use again.

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2006
Finally a "healthy" recipe. I loved them, will definitely make them again. I didn't use nuts as my son hates them, but they were great without them.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
Very good. I followed another reviewers advice and omitted the cinnamon and added 2 tsp. pure lemon extract and it was fantastic. I would cut the sugar down to 2 c. next time as I found it a bit sweet for me. I used a regular loaf pan and it worked fine. Will definitely make again.

Zucchini Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
Really good way to use up all the zucchini and tomatoes in the garden, even my husband liked it. I added 1 clove of garlic too, because I love garlic, and it was really good. I sauted the zucchini, onion & garlic as recommended first before putting in with the tomato too.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I wasn't quite sure how they'd turn out with no egg in it, but a 14 year old boys football team proved to me how good they were. Gone in seconds! Very nice flavour and texture. Will make again.

Singapore Noodles

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
This was really good only I thought it was missing something. The heat was just right, maybe a touch more soy sauce? Will definitely make again though.

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
These were the best! I quadrupled the recipe so I could freeze these for a Christmas get together coming up. The smell was amazing and they tasted even better than they smelled. I like the bite from the chile paste. I too, used a 1 lb. package of fine cut coleslaw mix and it worked perfectly. I ate 4 or 5 of them before they cooled and its a good thing I did freeze them otherwise I'd be making more tomorrow. Thanks for a great recipe.

Ken's Minestrone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
My first shot at minestrone and it was a 5 star soup. I used my homemade Italian tomatoes, so I had to add a little salt and a little more bouillon. I added a little more garlic (love garlic) too. Was absolutely fantastic, my husband loved it. If you aren't a big fan of spicy, leave out the cayenne pepper. Otherwise, don't change a thing.

Country Soup in a Jar

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
I received this soup as a gift for Christmas (after I recommended the site to my Aunt). My husband said it was the best soup he ever had, so am going to be making this myself, as well as giving it out as gifts too. The soup got thicker the longer it sat, so if you have leftovers like I did, I just added more chicken broth to thin it out. Delicious.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
Delicious! What else can I say. The only thing different that I did was to use dry onion soup mix as I had no canned french onion soup. I added a cup of water as well to make up for the canned f.onion soup. Otherwise, did everything as written and will definitely make this again.

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
It was very good, my husband thought I was crazy putting corn flakes on top. I would add something to give it a little more zing, personal preference, but it was good just as is. Very easy to make, I sliced my potatoes, thinly, and it took the exact same amount of time. The cream of celery soup is needed, would be bland with cream of mushroom or similar.

Cawl (Traditional Welsh Broth)

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
Very tasty & hearty soup. I wasn't sure how the "boys" would like rutabaga in soup, but it was a big hit. I like thick & chunky soups, so this fit the bill. Will definitely make again.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
Amazing stuff. I used 1/2 tsp hot sauce, but would use 1 tsp next time as it mellows out. As per another reviewer, I might try adding a bit more whiskey when its cooked - just because! Fantastic just as is though. Won't buy from the store anymore.

Beaker's Vegetable Barley Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
It is a very good, healthy soup. I did everything as per the instructions, my only change would be to add the curry powder, paprika powder, etc, about 3/4 of the way through cooking. I found the flavour a little bland. I ended up adding a touch more of the spices at the end. Otherwise, very good. Will make again.
