My husband is my best (and worst) critic because he is a chef with over 20 years experience. Years of his cooking for the kids have spoiled them to his cooking, so I had to step it up, or end up crying everytime I cooked dinner and nobody ate it! Wink!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all the foods that we love that are bad for us. It's my mission to take those comfort foods and make them more healthy so when I pass on the recipes to the next generation, I will leave a legacy of healthy eating.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for the holidays, baking especially. I will spend weeks preparing and cooking for teacher gifts, neighbor gifts and friend gifts. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I don't really bake that much the rest of the year, so I can pretty much go crazy during the holidays and not feel too guilty!
My cooking triumphs
My best day was the first time I cooked dinner when my chef husband was not home and my kids thought he made it ahead of time!
My cooking tragedies
The worst cooking tragedy was the first time I cooked for my husband. We had been dating for about a month and I tried a new dish I never made before (stupid). I wanted to be cool so I watched some cooking show on PBS. It was a disaster. I will never live it down. The first thing I did was burn the garlic instead of sauteeing it. After that, it all went downhill.
