WOW! THESE HAVE A GREAT FLAVOUR AND AMAZING SOFTNESS! I FOLLOWED EVERYTHING EXCEPT I LEFT OUT THE BAKING SODA. I ALSO LEFT MY STARTER OUT ON THE COUNTER OVERNIGHT TO FORM THE "SPONGE". I COULD REALLY TASTE THE SOURDOUGH IN MINE! BEFORE GOING IN THE OVEN I EGG WASHED THE ROLLS. I WILL MAKE THIS FOR ALL THE HOLIDAYS!!!!

Herman Sourdough Starter

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
my starter is now 3months old and gives me great breads! love it! when doing research i learned that this starter is VERY forgiving....you dont have to stir and feed as often as it says...only in the begining. other than that...i feed when i need more and stir when i think about it.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
Ok so i made this twice. first time just the same as the recipe and it was great! second time i decided to play a bit....added tsp. kosher salt.. tbs. garlic powder....1 cup shredded chedder cheese..and chopped pepperoni. AWSOME!!!!! I also create a proof box in my oven by warming it on the lowest setting(170degees) then turn it off and add a sauce pot with boiling water. Let it get all steamy and add your dough. Remove pot before baking but the steam that's left will give your bread a super crust!!! Promise!

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Ok so i have been working my way thru the cinnamon roll recipes. i thought i had found good ones untill now! THIS RECIPE IS THE BEST!!!!!! i mixed it by hand and kneeded for 10mins. let rest for 35mins. rolled out. spread 1 stick of soft butter and sprinkled with a mix of 1cup brown sugar and 3TBS. of cinnamon. it only yielded 12 regular sized rolls. i let rolls rest again for 35 more mins. then baked JUST untill the edges turned golden. PERFECTION!!!!!!! please note that during both rest times the dough didnt rise very much but they exploded in the oven! I put 6 in a pan and wraped 6 in plastic to store in the freezer. iced with creamcheese frosting. THE BEST PART IS THAT THEY STAY SOFT AND GOOEY EVEN AS LEFTOVERS!!! WILL NEVER MAKE ANOTHER RECIPE AGAIN!!!!! I ALSO CUT HALF THE "LOG" AND MADE CINNAMON RAISIN PECAN BREAD!!!!

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
i made this recipe twice. first time i followed the directions to the letter(following the advise to use cream cheese frosting). it was ok but the second time i made some changes. i added an extra 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp. more salt, and a 1 tsp. cinnamon to the sort of bland dough. i slathered a generous layer of soft butter to the dough before adding cinnamon-sugar mix. i bake it at 350 because 375 is just too high for a tender dough like this. this came out fantastic!!!! still with the cream cheese frosting. it gets easier to make the more you do it. please note that my dough didn't rise during the first rest period or in the fridge...but in the oven..MAN OH MAN! PERFECT!
