Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: May 7, 2014
Unbelievably easy to make. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little worried throwing all that stuff in together like that but sure enough, about a half hour later it was ready to ladle up and eat.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Wow! About 20 years ago a friend gave me a recipe for banana bread and I've made it many many many times... it's the only recipe I've ever found for banana bread that I really like. And now I have a new one. This is so stinkin good I nearly cried while eating the first one. My first thought was holy freakin cow what is that wonderful concoction in my mouth and my second thought was, I need to make these for every human being I know! The crumb topping is the absolute kicker. Just when you're enjoying the sweetness of a good, familiar banana muffin, you bite into the crumb topping and go WoW! Crumb topping makes all muffins special and this is just... WoW! The lowdown... the batter was so thick and sticky I was afraid it wasn't going to bake right. Baked just fine! I had never done crumb topping on anything before and it seemed like it needed more butter to make it chunkier?... so I added another tablespoon. I'm sure it would have been just fine without it. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Oh, I added about a cup of chopped pecans. I like nuts in my banana bread. That's just how I roll. Thanks!! :) BTW - You can freeze your ripened bananas and use them when you're ready. Put them in your freezer, as is. When you're ready, take out and defrost. They're nasty looking and a bit slimy but just peel and squish the banana out.

Gourmet Root Beer Float

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Maybe it's a southern thing but these are made and enjoyed all the time. Definitely try them with any other soda and also other ice cream flavors. And use rich ice cream, the cheap stuff won't be as creamy when it melts... which is the 2nd best part... the first is when you first make it.. then once it starts to melt and combines the root beer with the creamy melted ice cream. YUM!
