Cantonese Dinner

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2004
I made this with chops and it was very good. I didn't have tomato sauce so I used a can of tomatoes in juice and it was just fine. I also browned the pork with a T. of flour and it helped thicken up the sauce. I made some fried rice and broccoli with chili and it was a great meal!!

Lemon Chicken III

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2003
The lemon taste of this was very strong, BUT I love lemon so it was really good. The juice also "cooked" the chicken so it was very tender and almost to the point of questioning if it was really cooked. The breading became very soggy in the oven so I had to put the chicken on a baking sheet and put them under the broiler to crisp up the coating. My fiance loved the flavor too, so next time, I will just remember to cook under the broiler for a few mins. or just leave off the the breading.

Butternut Bisque

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2003
This was excellent soup! I didn't have any half and half so I just used a little milk and a dollop of cream cheese. It was so filling and creamy. I felt so healthy after eating it- its loaded with vitamins and minerals. Much better than those canned soups!!!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2003
This tasted and looked just like regular cornbread. Was is suppose to be soupy or runny? Cause mine wasn't- it was just another cornbread recipe.

All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2003
This recipe was excellent. I only used one egg like suggested and about 3 cups total of the cheese. I really liked it, but the noodles were a little chewy and mushy after 5 hours, but very tasty. If your looking for yummy comfort food, this is it.

Brown Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
I really liked the flavors of this creamy and satisfying salad. I left out the cilantro cause I really dont care for it and it was great. A great way to get in your fiber. I used minute brown rice also cause its easier. Wonderful! Thanks.

Monterey Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2003
This was great comfort food. I took the advice of others and didn't add so much cheese even though cheese is my favorite food. I also added a can of cream of mushroom soup and 3/4 of the actual needed sour cream. I only cooked it on high for 1 1/2 hours cause it did start to burn, but it gives it a nice little crunch. I will make this again and probably cook it on low and stir it occasionally to keep it from burning on the sides. I will also add more spinach cause I really like spinach. Thanks for the recipe- I LOVED it!!

Cottage Cheese Roast

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2003
This LOOKED just like meatloaf after it was done cooking, but it DID NOT taste just like meatloaf as some others have reviewed. It smelled wonderful when it was cooking and looked good. I ate one piece and decided it was too much all-around for me. I dont care for nuts so the taste of walnuts was too overpowering. I love cottage cheese and it was not as prominant as I thought it would be due to the name of the roast. I decided to throw out the rest of the loaf after only one piece. It was just not for me. I got a strange aftertaste in my mouth. I was dissapointed, but the only way to know is to try it once, right?

Charlotte's Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
My mother in law and I personally really liked this salad but my picky husband and father in law didn't even try it. The cold pasta was wonderful-dont over cook it! I needed to chop the veggies a bit smaller, but they were fine. I will make this again for parties and family gatherings, but I cant make it at home for my husband wont touch it. I added more lemon juice and the honey was a great addition. Didn't have walnuts- thats okay though- dont really like nuts. Overall a nice cool summer recipe.

Corn Salad II

Reviewed: May 27, 2003
I dont like corn so I thought I would give it a try with something new. I didn't have celery seed so I had to leave that out. I added extra salt and pepper also. I thought it was very runny. Maybe try scraping as much of the seeds out of the cucumber as possible. I dont think I will make this again. But it did have a wonderful smell- like summer in a bowl!

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 22, 2003
I hate raisins but thought I should put them in like the recipe says and it was really good. After sitting in the fridge overnight, the raisins plumped up to a huge size! I blanched the broccoli and left out the seeds. I think I needed to add more mayo (only added 10 tlbs instead of 16) and some more red onion to give it that bitterness that the sugar needs to counteract. Overall, a very nice warm weather salad.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
These were excellent enchiladas. They were very mild on the palette. I added extra green chilies cause I only had a large can and it was fine. If your looking for spicy, you wont find it here. I like this in addition to my spicy red recipe. Thanks for this!!!

Chocolate Bar Fondue

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
This was amazing! It did make a ton and we have lots left over. We dipped some pound cake and strawberries and also apples and marshmellows. The marshmellows went really fast and everyone was surprised that they liked that one so much! I used really good chocolate too so I think that helped. I used Ghiradelli's milk chocolate and a package of the double chocolate too. Amazing!!

Basic Fondue

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2003
What the heck did I do wrong? My inlaws said they loved this, but it was all grainy and clumpy. I used regular-fat everything and it came out grainy and icky. I was really upset and dissapointed in this. I will not make this again for fear that I will embarrass myself in front of others. Sorry.

Rice and Ham Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2003
If you let this salad sit too long, the water will start to leach out of the veggies and the whole thing becomes really runny. I thought the taste of this salad was a little funny, but I forgot to add the french dressing. Either way, as first it tasted just fine, then after a day or two, it was yucky. Guess you have to have the french dressing to make a fair review, but overall, it wasn't that great.

Chicken Curry Party Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
I loved this salad. I bought some curry powder at the store for this recipe and it brought back so many memories of my moms shrimp curry recipes. I really enjoyed it except I didn't use the olives or fruit. I also used light mayo and light sour cream. It was wonderful.

Noodles Romanoff

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2003
My boyfriend took one bite and spit this out. He even put the rest back into the original bowl. When you bake this, it makes the sour cream curdle. Did anyone else have this problem who tried it?? I was so much looking forward to this and it was a dry, clumpy mess!! I was really dissapointed. Threw it out.

Cheesy Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2003
I loved these carrots. I really had to boil them for a long time to get them soft enough to mash. I wish I had a blender then I really could've made them fluffy and creamy. The cheese mixed in with the green onions makes a wonderful flavor. Thanks for this recipe! Making it over and over...
