Salsafied Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2012
This couldn't be any quicker to make. Added paprika & cumin as others did to the browning chicken (used Tyson diced frozen chicken -- so easy!) Followed remainder of recipe as is and found it a little bland. Could be due to the mild salsa I used. So I added 2 tsp diced jalapeno, 1 tbsp Cilantro and 10 drops Tobasco. Now we're talkin'. Decided I would throw in a can of diced tomatoes in the juice and a can of rinsed corn as others did. It is now delicious and with just enough of a kick -- not too spicy. Going to serve corn bread on the side.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
Excellent and very tasty! We are a family of 4 so I halved the recipe which worked very well. There was plenty of marinade to cover 4 medium-sized steaks. We will be using this marinade again!

Breaded Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
I used to made this year's ago but I'd forgotten about it and how good it is. I did change it up a little...used Panko bread crumbs (didn't have corn flakes on hand). It was really tasty! Thanks -- will keep it in the rotation!

Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Try this...use only 1 can cream of mush and use 1 can cream of celery in a saucepot. Add 1-1/2 cans milk to thin out & heat through. Here's the clincher...ad 10 slices velveeta (melts better than cheddar) and to top it off...add 1 can Rotel tomatoes with green chiles! Dump it into the drained noodles and I'm telling you...was Yum-yum! My picky son loved it and hubby ate seconds!

These cookies are absolutely scrumptious! Very rich and chocolately which is exactly what I was looking for. Didn't change a thing. Made these for Christmas and expect they will make it to my baking list next year! Thanks Jaime. Great recipe!

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
Absolutely delish! Never made a pie from scratch before and was a little nervous. But, I followed the recipe to a "T" and it was perfect. Great job Ruby. Thanks for sharing. Will make again since it was a hit with my family..

Sour Cream Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Oh my gosh...fabulous! Only change I made was to use more soup for extra gravy but used cream of mushroom and cream of celery instead of chicken based. The fresh tomato, especially since they're in season, added just the right texture. And the basil was the perfect seasoning. I will make these again and again. Thanks for the new twist on chops!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
KEEPER!!! Hearty, flavorful and delicious! Coated the beef with flour mixture, added 2c water for more gravy & used red potatoes (skins on) as 3 others suggested. Will be pulling this one out on cold nights all winter long! Thanks for sharing Paula.

Chicken Wing Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
Taste's just like buffalo chicken wings! I get asked to bring this to every Sunday football gathering. I left the cheddar cheese out since buffalo wings in the restaurant don't come with it. Big hit! This one's a keeper!

Buffalo Chicken Wings I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
Wow! Absolutely wonderful sauce. The Frank's Hot Sauce is the key. Watch the amount of butter. I added garlic powder as someone else suggested...it was just the right touch. Served during a football game gathering and they were a hit! This will be the only chicken wing sauce I will use from now on. Thanks Ginger!

Cordon Bleu Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
Very tasty. I substituted chicken also...just sauted it (in a separate pan) as I did the ham. Suggest using 2 to 2-1/2c milk to stretch and thin sauce and to add moisture...casserole was just a tad dry. Be exact on the nutmeg...can overpower taste. The topping burnt in the oven, so next time I will cover for first 10 min's of baking. Thanks Joyce!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
Sooooo Yummmmy!!! I couldn't imagine whole beans in this so I spread refried beans on top of each tortilla layer. It worked out great and added another layer of flavor. I also added 1/2 c. sour cream to the pan once the Chili-O (as another reviewer used), tomatoes and soup were mixed with the beef to make the mixture creamier. Wow! Just the right touch! Used all 4 c. of cheese (as we are cheese-a-holics!). It was absolutely delicious. If you like Mexican you'll love this. Thanks, Beverly.

Mashed Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
My family couldn't get enough of these potatoes! I sub'ed sour cream for cream cheese as some others did and used prepared onion dip right out of the dairy case at the grocer. I thought it would make the dish "soupy" but it didn't and the potatoes weren't dry as some others mentioned. Added a sm. can of french fried onion rings (crushed) to the top, melted butter and poured over. Delish! Next time I'll make sure to have cream cheese on hand. I'm anxious to see if the potatoes come out creamier. Thanks, Mary. This is a keeper!

The Best Slow Cooker Cream Corn

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2007
My family loved this! But, it was super rich...and thick! I ended up thinning it down at the end with about 3/4 cup milk. I'm thinking next time I'll halve the cream cheese and use heavy cream so it's still creamy but not as rich. After halving the sugar, it was still sweet, but not too. Overall, very good. Will make again. Thanks Mamamelton!

Creamy Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2007
Simply scrumptous! Didn't have fresh herbs on hand so I used dried at 1 Tbs. each. Worked just fine! Added cubed chicken for a one-pot meal. Does require thinning at the end as others mentioned. I added about a 1/2 c. at a time until I got it to the consistency I wanted. Very delish! Will make again.

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2007
This was a hit with my family! Easy to make and quite flavorful! I doubled the sauce and put a little over the rice as suggested...wonderful! Also...popped the chicken under the broiler for a few minutes after baking in the oven to brown it a little. Will make again.

London Broil

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Wow! This was amazingly tasty! I took the advice of some other Reviewers and sub'd the veg oil for olive, meat tenderizer rather than MSG and used dried tarragon and red wine vinegar. Next time though I'll let it marinate overnight...more to break down the cut of beef than to infuse additional flavor. The dish was so good that my steak sauce-loving family didn't even break out the bottle!

Easy Chicken Rice Casserole

Can't get your kids to eat rice? Make this for them and they'll be requesting it all the time as mine does. Add the extra milk as suggested by others. It makes a big difference. Just yummy!
