About this Cook
Hi there! My name is Meg. My mother was a great cook, she was a cool to look up to. I also love to cook; like mother like daughter. I think of it as an art form so, I guess you can call me an artist. I can't wait until my daughter, Luci is old enough to cook with me. Good old Buffalo, NY is my hometown. I consider myself a lucky woman living here and some would think I'm crazy saying this because, it snows about half a year here but, Buffalo is well known for many specialty foods and since it snows here for most of the year cooking is a great pass time and it can sure warm you up on a cold snowy day.
My favorite things to cook
I love grilling. If I can cook it on a grill I am a happy woman. I also love roasting foods. I cook a mean Lemon Pepper Tofu from what I here. Really, I love to cook anything and everything that sounds good to me and my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made a delicious pot roast. I enjoy trying to replicate this dish however, I think it's impossible to recreate such perfection. Have you ever heard of a poor boy sandwich? Well, my family came up with a poor boy soup and we call it Shell Soup. Most would likely pass on this soup but, I absolutely love it. Shell soup consists of small pasta shells or elbow macaroni, the water it was boiled in, hunts tomato sauce, salt and pepper, and some like to add parmesan and butter. Sounds strange, I know but, it's the equivalent of chicken soup to my family. Try it sometime!
My cooking triumphs
I have never been big on baking. It always seems to be too long and involved. Recently I tried making a pie crust and it came out really great! I couldn't believe it. I used a recipe ffrom this site called Ruth's Grandma's pie crust. This recipe was super easy to follow and I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Ruth's Grandma!

Stephen's Chocolate Chip Cookies
These were awesome cookies! I loved the consistency. I will definitely make the again. Honestly, I just made them last week and they were gone so fast that I plan to make them again today. The baking powder seemed to make them fluffy at first. Then the cooling process helped them settle down making them nice and chewy. All of the different chips and nuts made every bite taste a little different than the last. Thanks for sharing! This was a really creative cookie recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
I followed this recipe exactly and I can honestly say that this was the best apple pie I've ever had! I wouldn't change a thing about it. It was like eating a candy apple baked in pie crust with a scoop of apple pie filling. What wonderful flavors! My friends and family all commended me on how it turned out. Thank you Grandma Ople! I will never forget you :)

Beef Stew VI
I'm giving this one four stars and not five because, my husband didn't like the rosemary. He said that it had a weird consistency but, the flavor was really good. I actually loved this stew and I'll definitely be making it again.
